    Upgrading Exhaust

I have a 2009 Dodge Charger R/T with the 5.7 HEMI. It has Performance Exhaust; so the first question i would like to ask is: What is the exact name of this "performance exhaust?"

My second question is: How big are the exhaust pipes? I am looking to upgrade the rear to the new Flowmaster 44 mufflers. Although, i need to know my current pipe size before i buy these. I want to buy the right size.

Please respond to all questions ASAP. Thanks alot!!!

I wouldn't think that they changed the exhaust setup for the 2009 year, so they should be as follows:
Before the x-pipe, 2.5" and after 2.25" (that is everything from the x-pipe back to the reso's). There are tons of sound clips on here of different exhaust setups that you might find helpful. If you like loud loud, my personal suggestion would be SLP catback (you can buy the mufflers/resonators from several sites and have an exhaust shop near you make a system, saves some dough) or just cutting out your suitcase muffler sounds pretty mean too! It has a real quiet idle sound but as soon as you put your foot down it transforms into a beast! Good luck with your mission! If u have any questions, this is the place to ask, and feel free to PM me if you have any questions.

Oh and if you don't know how the exhaust is set up on our LXs. The 2.25" portion is x-pipe, suitcase muffler, pipes to resonators, then tips. So if you go with the flowmasters, you would also probably want to either take it and have the resonators cut off and replaced with tips, or check out blastin bobs fat pipes in the vendor aisle. Sorry, I'm just full of cheap ideas for exhaust systems. (Spending $1000 on your exhaust is not necessary, no matter what those guys with zoomers and corsa say!)

thanks alot!!! And ya, i am totally for the idea of not blowing all my money on exhaust.......was not even considering spending 1000k.............not even close. Thanks for filling me in on what's good and cheap!

P.S. If i were to just get the flowmasters and put them on as they are, what would they sound like? Because i don't want my car TOO loud, just to get kind of a bad*** rumble you know??

But is there an alternative to the Corsa that sounds similar with no drone?
I like quiet cruise with some muscle when using a little more throttle.
My factory R&T seems ok on the quiet cruise but could be better when more throttle is used. Its ok for me at WOT.
Other than that it has this odd drone at certain RPM & load, very annoying.
