Hello,
I aspire to own an SRT8. There are about 9 dealers within reasonable reach of me. Some are telling me they expect delivery of one car around November 1st. Other dealers say the car is "on hold" until December due to an "emissions problem". Anyone care to share any information?
Also, some have told me they are getting 2 cars each. Surely every dealer cannot get 2 cars if they are producing a very limited number. Any comments?
I also hear I can order a car... that Dodge will accept orders for cars during the SRT8 production run. This implies a larger number is possible.
I'm getting so much conflicting info, I seek help from the forum. Any ideas?
Thanks
they are building the srt's now and there are people who already have them. i suggest if you want one go to a dealership and order your srt with the options you want on it. or start checking availability on the internet with other dealerships, you might find a dealer who has one in stock with what you want. the only down side to this is you might have to travel to get your car but then you'll have a great roadtrip home. a new srt owner from tampa did just that, he ordered and srt but then found the exact one he wanted at a delaership in st.louis and went there and bought it and drove it home.Originally Posted by hemiuberalles

Welcome to the forum. A lot of guys here would like to be in your shoes right now. Tell us where you are and maybe we can help. Also, which SRT8 are you looking for. We can tell you where some are sitting right now. Color? Options?Originally Posted by hemiuberalles
By the way, the dealers are always confused.
I know that there is a shiny black Magnum SRT in El Paso for sticker.

If you want one, theres no reason you should not be able to get one. You might have to alter "reasonable distance". If all your locals want 5K over, the $300 airfare and $300-500 gas and lodging looks real good.
Go figure... dealerships being shady. Never would have thought it. Hang in there and don't pay a dime over sticker. If you can wait...wait! Remember as the consumer you got sway. If a local dealership has what you want for 100k over sticker, offer them less than MSRP and be prepared to walk if you can wait. You WILL win over them if you got patience. ITS A FACT.

Thank you all for the warm welcome. I grew up with the hemi legend a few years before me and always out of reach. A coworker years ago told of his hemi Cuda. He said he could be cruising 60 mph, stop the gas and squall the rear wheels.
I am seeking a Charger SRT8, option group 2 with side airbags. Prefer black, then red, then silver. Actually, I prefer red, but it is sure to be a ticket magnet.
Thank you all.
I do not believe there are any Chargers with the side airbag option available at this time. I was shopping these cars for a client a week or so ago and that is what I heard from three dealers.Originally Posted by hemiuberalles
