    Roll Cage?

Has anyone installed a roll cage in thier Charger? Love to see pics, I'm thinking of doing this.

No, it would be mostly for show. I've had cars with them before and I just think they look really cool.

Would a roll cage not interfere with the factory side air bags? Would hitting your head on it in a crash be a good "Show" for you cause you were not wearing a helmet while driving to the Mall?

Well, this wasn't an issue for my convertable. I would rather bump my head than shave my scalp if I went dark side up! As for the airbag, wouldn't it protect my new rollbar from scratches?

Cages are illegal on the street because they're pretty much guaranteed to kill you in a side impact w/o a helmet... that aside, no, I haven't seen a cage in an LX but I do think it would look sweet. Actually, maybe I take that back... did Jay Carnes have a full cage done?

Yes Jay has one in his Maggie - but he also has a ton of back half work done.

OK, but you can't deny that my old GT looked totally cool with this. (Yes I know, but I traded it for a HEMI!) I guess I should have said bar, not cage.

In my opinion, and I'm sure it doesn't mean much, I think all you would be doing is adding weight. It would only be seen at car shows and there is the legality issue as has been brought up. Check with your states laws regarding roll bars.

Also, Jay Carnes car is being built as a ProStock racer.

The Magnum has a soul. It has a personality, something all too lacking in the automotive transportation appliances everybody else is offering.

Yeah, Jay is practically tube frame, but still, he'll have pictures to show you of the interior when it's finished. I'm not denying it'll look cool as hell, I just think it's a lot of weight and money, not to mention permanent modification to the car, that doesn't have any benefit other than its bad-ass looks.

I know, the weight thing. Would you believe that right now I have two baby seats stapped in the back along with strollers, kid toys, and cans of formula and stuff and stuff and stuff! Not sure I would notice the extra weight, but seriously, my old bar did weigh about 50 lbs with the crossbrace and all. I'm not sure of the laws here in FL, but all the cruising I did with my convertable I was never pulled or citted.

My old bar actually bolted in(on top of the carpet) and after fitting it I pulled and custom matched the paint. Even with the back brace, the rear seats fit back in fine

What about people who didn't get the side airbags? Would'nt hitting the roof be about the same?

And I'm sure you could wrap it in foam, or some type of material with high rebound properties.
