Raised White Letter Tires SRT8 Charger

Is there any manufacture that makes them, using the factory tire sizes?

Anybody have any thing good to say about some of the aftermarket, do it yourself applications?

I know most of the folks don't like them, but heck, flame on!

I think that they would look nice and old school. I had RWL tires on my wrangler (OE) and thought they looked pretty schnazzy. They would look great on a charger, especially a charger with smaller (18") wheels and fatter sidewalls. Try a DIY kit, the worst that can happen is that the lettering doesn't last.

I used http://www.autobarn.net/duplicolor-hot-tires.html and wasn't impressed at all. The lettering cracks, yellows, comes off quickly. If you had the time to maintain the letters, which would mean a coat of paint every two days, they look ok.

I may try a do it yourself kit if nothing else is available?

    google "rubber based paint"

there are commercial coatings out there that go on like paint but when they dry and or cure they act like rubber and not like that cheap tire paint duplicolor sells

    here's a few starters

    http://www.apvcoatings.com/cms/produ...6ea/index.html

(this is a product overview for several different products that may work for this application)

I did call em, they would not even send me a sample. They sell to Goodyear, and the rest mostly. Eluded to the isuue of getting into trouble if they let the product out, with current customers. I said yes, but I'm just one man, and for my own use, she was laughing with me, then said she gets calls like this all the time, sorry, no sale.

Here is a bonus, she said, "Go to your local major name paint supply stores, and look for it under a different name." I said I get what your telling me, but can you give me more, like the name of the "major store," or the name on the can you are selling your product under, she just laughed again and said, "just look you will find it." I wish I had more time to go shopping. It sounds like they are selling this product, under a different marketing program, different name, but it can be had, she said it is the same stuff. She said look for a paint that is to be applied onto rubber, and that it won't say tires. I assumed it will not say apv coating anywhere on the can, but it is the same stuff they sell to the tire manufactures.

    Anybody ever find this stuff.

No idea on the application she could be hinting at... you could always just walk into a Sherwin Williams paint store and ask

That would be the stuff, she said it would be spendy! $25.00 per tire, just may get it, time to ponder.

they have 250 ml rattle can option, and a 200 ml can for under $40

But I think the can version of plasti-dip would work as well
