r/t mopar cai

Anyone have this mod? Gains hp/tq worth it? Better sound? I have a r/t challenger coming so i appreciate any feedback.

I am using the AFE2 CAI because of the awesome package price Frank Racing offered in combination with the Diablo Predator. Marylandspeed.com offers a similar package.

If I were you, I would get one of these packages as the AFE offers the most performance gain (tied with the Airhammer I believe) in most tests.

I believe the MOPAR and K&N units offer little or no performance gain, but they probably do help the sound. Check the "Face Off" section for more information.

I think you will find that the CAI/Predator combo will offer you the best bang for your buck by far.

I have an R/T with the MOPAR SRT CAI. I figure the larger intake couldn't hurt. Besides I got it for free. As far as performance gains...well anything is better than the stock box and the sound is MUCH better than the stock box. I don't race the car and I don't have a Predator. For my use, I have SuperChips and for what it does, it works for me.

I have the Mopar CAI on my early build '05 R/T. When I bought it there weren't any CAI's out there that actually gave any HP increase, but many agreed that the Mopar sounded and looked the best. So that is what I went with. It definitely does sound good. However if I had the money to do it all over with, I'd go with either the AFE Stage II, an Airhammer or the C&L as all of those have been proven to increase HP/TQ across the entire RPM range, not just at the peak.

You'll also benefit from getting a Predator with whichever intake you choose. I do know that there are vendors offering combo prices with an intake and the predator.

I DON'T KNOW WHERE YOUR FROM, BUT HERE IN QUEBEC... MOST DEALERS WILL HONOR YOUR WARRANTY ONLY IF YOU BUY THE MOPAR CAI AND SOME ONLY IF YOU HAVE IT DEALER INSTALLED... SOME EVEN TOLD ME THEY WOULDN'T HONOR MY WARRANTY IF I MODDED MOPAR... SOUNDS MOSTLY LIKE A RACKET BUT IF YOUR STUCK LIKE ME... WITH A VERY EXPENSIVE EXTENDED WARRANTY... FIND A GOOD DEALER WHO WILL INSTALL YOUR MODS... WHICH IS PRETTY MUCH CAI AND CAT-BACK.
