Question about automatic headlights

Hey guys, My question is for a buddy of mine that has a GO Man GO Daytona #26Cdn. He's is wondering why he doesn't have it. His headlight knob does not have the "A" on it. He has the auto HVAC(ATC) sun sensor on the dash. Loaded with GPS,DVD,U-connect,upgraded stereo. He is wondering if it was easy as changing the switch out for the other one. On the Dodge.ca website it lists that he should have it. Any thoughts?

The switch is very easy to change out. Have him talk to the salesperson and inform him that the part will only cost around 40 bucks. If they want him to pay for it, just say, "FINE!! I will tell all my friends to buy there cars elsewhere!!!"

Pull off the knob and cut off the tab in the 3 o'clock position and he will have autolamps.

Dont BUY anything just do this change on your present system.
Even if you dont have the sensor and climate control it can be done with limited capability.

They only added this as an included feature on cars built after a certain date. I test drove an R&T RT without it. But mine will indeed come with it when it is delivered in March.

Real bummer for those that didn't get it. It is just a switch, maybe you can convince your dealer to switch it.

It is inculded in all cars with digital climate control from day one!Asdk the Mag owners how many have Autolamps,then ask how many of us got them for free with a 2 minute mod.Don't waste your money on the swith unless you want to pay $40 bucks for the letter A on your switch.

According to the Dodge.ca website, it list a 06 Daytona R/T with it.

Thanks very much for this link. I know my friend will be happy with this info. I work for DC at the plant that makes the LX cars. I have asked around and got different answers everthime. This one being the best.

i don't see it listed as an option or standard equipment. i also don't see the one touch, up & down front windows available either.

where did you see it as standard for the daytona?

welcome Dave. the sensor is worthless without ATC. it is hardwired to ATC and the info is bussed to other module (FCM) which controls headlamps.

Auto headlights on non climate control cars will not turn lights off when it is light outside but will be on when stated and turn off when key is off.
