Just wondering what all is in the police package on the charger, and what the difference is between it and the regular package that is found on the SXT?
Thanks guys in advance.

"With Great Power Comes Great Responsibility!"
Slightly higher top end speed
Additional wiring harnesses for police lightling packages
Additional fuse block and wiring on the passanger side under the dash
Shifter re-located on the dash instead of the centre console (only has PRND)
center console removed and replaced by anodized aluminum plate for mounting police radio equipment etc.
Steel rims to meet the police requirements
Upgraded rotors and calipers
Slightly more powerful alternator and battery combo
Option for 'A' pillar directable flood lamps
I think thats most of it..... I dont have the Upfitter guide in-front of me.. but if I remember ... thats most of the upgrades thought e book doesnt mention most of that as its meant for the after-market installers to locate tie-in points etc.

the police chargers and Magnums here in Reno, NV have a 4.0L jeep engine in them I think. the guy driving it that I talked to told me but I forgot. I believe it was a V8 around 4.0L
Thanks Cdn_Magnum.. I am going to pass this info on to my Uncle
Exactly. They come as listed. No other 'factory' engine options available, so buddy was yanking your chain or hasnt a clue what they have under the hood. Been to the plant for a tour for police purchacing, so I can tell you there is no other engine combinations.
There are very few 'additions' to the police package over the standard package. Most of it is wiring and some tweaking to the engine module. You have to remember also that these things typically go to auction after their life as a police cruiser, so theres not going to be anything major done to them at the factory level. Even the CV Police Intercepter is nothing special... infact the V6 Dodge is ONLY 1 second slower from 0 to 60 mph and the V6 Dodge will out brake the CV![]()
Not sure if this was mentioned, but the Police packages are also able to Totally disable ESP. By holding down the ESP button. It also displays in the EVIC, "ESP Disabled".
