    Parking Brake release

I have some work to do under the dash and want to disconnect the parking brake release. I know I mucked around with it before but never figured out the proper way to remove it. Thanks.

Pull.... hard. Now that it's warmer maybe I would have more patience, but I tried with needlenose to back the retainer out of mine and ended up bending one of the sides way far back. It still works just fine though, and the Chicken said this is the norm.

you will most likely break the retainer tabs trying to remove the release cable. no worries, still works OK.
they redesigned the cable retainer as a running change on late '06 models to make them easier to remove.

I squeezed the retaining clip with some needle nose pliers (the kind with rough pinchers...the kind that grip things real well) and popped that black plastic clip out.

After that I pulled the wire back an inch or so and lifted the wire out of the groove and slid the pin out of the pull handle.

The second time I did this I broke one of the 2 clips... the remaining side of the clip holds real well and is much easier to pull out when I need to even using my fingers.
Did the radiator cap mod: SRT8 is here....
