I ordered a Superchips Flashpaq for my Charger.
I hope it make as big of an improvement as it did on the Power Wagon!
Any feedback on the "performance transmission" program?
I found that just taking out the torque managment works best on my Magnum R/T. Otherwise you have to shift manually unless you're at full throttle. You will hit the rev limiter. If you just take out the TM, it works like stock except the shifts are firmer. I tried the other way and didn't like it.

Shift manually? I have yet to have to do that. Unless I was playing, could be the software version your Tranny has??Originally Posted by Night Moves II

When I first installed the programing, I went with their trans settings. Coming off a stop light, I dropped into first and went to about half throttle expecting it to shift when it hit red line. It didn't. I had to up shift manually. It only shifted by itself at WOT. I didn't like that so I reprogramed it to just take out the TM. Just personal preference. According to my instruction booklet, thats how it works. I just didn't like it.
Try it at the track or if you have access to a Mustang dyno. You will be amazed at the improvement in quarter mile time and 60 foot times. No matter how hard they strapped mine down after the tuner, it would still spin. I rarely use the paddle shift, you won't get a better launch than in drive, but its kinda cool downshifting while tooling thru town and letting the exhaust talk. BTW nice Powerwagon!

I love the Autostick "manual mode". This area is mostly rural, the biggest "cities" in this 3,000 square mile county have populations of about 13,000. Lots of excellent winding roads that are best driven in "manual". Also, with the rev limiter @ stock setting and the autostick in stock configuration, a spirited holeshot usually ends up with a "short shift" into second resulting in a huge RPM drop when the tires "grab".Originally Posted by formerice
It would be nice to have the rev limiter cranked up and have the transmission programed to "hold" the gear until it is shifted manually. Let ME decide how much to feather the throttle and when to shift.

What are the rev limits, and top speed limits for the LX version of the Superchips?
I have the Power Wagon set up on 91 octane performance tune with 6300 RPM/140 MPH. (the top speed is drag limited to about 110-115 MPH so the top speed limiter is a moot point) The transmission shifts at about 6100 RPM at WOT in drive.
I know the stock Chrger will do 140 MPH I have had mine up to that but I test drove 1 that hit a speed limiter at about 142 MPH. At 140 I have a "whole nuther gear" to go. With some tuning & exhaust I think 150+ would be realistic. Perhaps close to 160.
IIRC, all non-police, 5.7L Hemi LX's are limited by the ECM to 128 MPH...Originally Posted by PowerWagon896

Daytonas and Road & Track package Chargers are higher, 145 or 150mph from the factory.

I can't believe it, I ordered the Superchips on Monday from Premier Truck out of Pheonix, Arizona and it was on my porch when I got home today!
Talk about service.
Here is the tune I selected
(I had to pick something for the speed limiter)
- 91 octane performance
- Eliminate torgue managemant
- Performance transmission
- Paddle shift "hold"
- 6250 RPM
- 255 MPH speed limiter

No problems other than I have to do the 1-2 paddle shift @ about 5500 RPM to avoid the rev limiter. The revs come up so fast in low.![]()
She sure does scream @ 6 grand!
Now to get the 5w-20 Mobil 1 in her!![]()
Gotta go!
Just my opinion but also proven on the dyno with other vehicles. Does anyone know where we hit peak horse power with the 5.7??? Reason I'm asking is that if you go much higher than wherever your peak horse power is, you're really not gaining anything. According to the Superchips dyno results, the horse power starts to fall off after 5500rpms. They have the dyno chart available on their site. Screaming might not be making any extra power. I left mine at the 5500 shift point and did break the 100mph mark in the quarter mile. Like I said, just my two cents.
Hey man, wanna see how it is PM me,I'll meet you in Plattsburgh and give you a demonstration...hehe.

I got to take her out for a test run before we went to shoot trap. Had her doing about 125 MPH in 3rd and it was still pulling hard, close to 6K RPM. I got lucky twice, met a State Trooper after shutting down, TWICE! Both times I was doing between 60-65 MPH when I saw them.![]()
Does anyone else here a "crunch" coming from the back end on a WOT shift?
I have to do the 1-2 "paddle shift" at 5500 RPM to get the shift @ 6000.
Revs are climbing so fast and there is a slight "lag" on the shift. I can let 2nd go to 6000 and it shifts out OK, probably because the revs aren't building so fast.
I LOVE the "paddle shift"!
Now I have to come up with an excuse to drive the MANGO to work in the morning.
No crunch but I get rubber going into second!
Well...comparing our quarter mile data, should be a close race if thats what you're talking. But, I'm not driving to Plattsburgh any time soon. Besides, where the hell is that???
