    Never mix Mesh and Billet

What do guys think of mixing Mesh components with Billet lined components?

It's kind of like mixing Stripes and Polk-a-Dots isn't it? or Blue and Black. I feel like it should be one or the other, I personally prefer mesh, just because unless it's a perfect square or rectangle, the edges of billet can sometimes look uneven. Look closely at the top bar inside of the grill, had to be cut allot shorter to adjust for the curve. I maybe nit-picking, but I always look at detail. Also, if billet gets bent, it can look like a levalour blind that people bend to peak out of instead of raising up the right way.

I saw this pick the other day and I thought the front end looked great, but something seems a little off. I looked closer and it was the mesh in the scoop not matching the rest of the billet.

I agree, something is off and it is the combo. But on the other hand, each person has a different taste.

    Found another offender!

One-off (slatted) upper and MSRT (honeycomb) lower. Different strokes, I guess. I have also seen many stock cars with this same setup, like some of the Mercedes line.

I did it for a while too...Mesh in the grill, and lower billets...Had to go all mesh in the end.

Ouch! We should start a new "LX LAW" thread like Man Law, but then again I don't want to offend anybody, but I'm going to continue to look for other offenses and offenders.

This thread is not very nice.

Someone can always find fault with someone elses mods or styles. If we all have the same opinions on our car fashions it would be a boring world, now wouldn't it? Come on, I think that my ride is sort of cool (at least to me, otherwise I would not have gone through all of the effort) just like you think that driving a Dodge Intrepid is (did I say that? Sorry).

Let's just do the compliments unless someone is unsure and asks you for your opinion. Just my $0.02.

This is a great forum, so let's keep it that way.

Well the thread starter DID ask for an opinion. Sometimes we use other peoples pics for an example...You must be open for constructive criticism along with compliments on any forum. I am open for compliments or criticisms..BUT...I build my car for ME and ME only.

Lighten up MagFX, nobody is saying mean things about your car. Furthermore if you didn't want feedback or opinions then you wouldn't post photos of your car, or even drive it in public. Thats exactly why I started the thread and stated "What do you guys think?" That's the whole point of a forum isn't it? To exchange ideas, opinions and photos.

I guess the open letter to Daimler Chrysler should be deleted since there's negative comments about the LX cars huh?

It's all good dude, just don't tuck your jersey into your jeans.

    I rest my case...
