My stock RT wheels are corroding around the center caps. (Warranty)

All 4 of my stock RT wheels are corroding/finish is coming off around the center caps. My car is still covered under the factory bumper to bumper 3/36, is this something that should be covered under the warranty?

I don't think so, but my dealer went ahead and got me a new wheel.(just because I'm a nice guy...LOL) The other wheels are now showng signs of this too. I doubt he will cover that though. Maybe if you are good to the dealer and he wants to keep you as a customer, he may cover it for you. I eventually bought a new Challenger SRT from them, so it kinda works both ways. I hope it works out for you.

Yeah, what happens is.....the vibration of the centercaps wears off the clearcoat on the wheel. Aluminum corrodes when unprotected from the elements.

    Think so?

I've found that this starts further in where the aluminum wheel is in contact with the iron rotor hat.

we've been sending them out to a local wheel repair shop to have the clearcoat redone. so far, chrysler's been paying. we usually send them pics for pre-approval though.

That is exactly what happened when they warrantied mine. They ordered 4 reconditioned ones on warranty. Pics had to be taken and permission given first. The reman ones have a better finish than the OEs.
