LX Fuse Box Cover, new and improved

Not many of us really like the fuse box cover. So why not cover it with something nice and fully customizable. This covers the "cover" plus the "+" post.

A company in Florida already makes one of these from polished stainless; yes I have one. I added the "CHARGER"

As you can see, it's not of high quality. It's not 100% polished stainless and has sharp edges. It's held together with some kind of epoxy. One drop and it would fall apart.

Now, MINE! 14ga mild steel starts out like this

After a date with a Press Brake

Now, it gets TIG welded and blended

Similar, but fundamentally different in every way

Now, here is the best part. My part can be painted, chromed, plated, or powder-coated. Or, I can make it out of aluminum or stainless. My stainless cover would have a "brushed" look.

    Talk about options, WOW!

ACC does good work, at least their firewall is quality anyway. It's not a part that gets mounted where it might be dropped... or where you should be rubbing your face on it :-P

Don't get me wrong, yours looks awesome. But I know what labor rates for welding are, and I know how much it sucks to TIG thin sheetmetal... I cringe at what yours would cost versus theirs.

This is 100% my work. start to finish. My cover would cost the same as thiers. It would be up to the end user to apply whatever finish they want.

    Great job!!
Reminiscent of a box we had to make in high school shop class.(minus the tig)
