Here we go folks. I kind of hid this one so other memers of the TNMM club wouldn't see until todays GTG.
This is the first glass hood I've ever been in contact with. So, with that in mind.... It's very light, around 35lbs. I've heard bad stories about pinholes and such in these types of hoods. To me, it looks like you could scuff it and shoot it right away. Which I know is not the truth. I've found one low spot on the whole thing. I know block sanding will reveal much more, but for now, I can't believe it looks this good.
My paint guy was "AMAZED" at the quality out of the mold and has never seen one so smooth.
This a paper template for a cover piece i'm gonna make covered with suede. It's gonna be solid....not with the big opening. BTW...no pre-drilled holes for the sprayers.
And the new removable liner:
Gonna ghost some spears similar to this, only with 5.7L HEMI.
Got these Hoodpins to help hold it down....plus, they just look cool.
And now for the test fit. We just threw it on there with no adjusting at all. And the fit was nearly perfect. Holy crap! Can you believe that!
And from the inside looking out:
a little block sanding
Base coat
Final Pics
Haven't installed hood pins yet. There are several small "issues" that need to be addressed first.
