    Esp Off?

I was reading all these posts about ESP..so I decided to do a little experimenting mymyself. I found that when you first start the car and the dinging starts ..push and hold the ESP OFF button for approx. 8 secs and you will hear one final ding.. a confirmation that it is off

that this mean it is totally off?.....these near miss hits I have been hearing about with the ESP killing the motor has me a bit concearned.

Depends on the Year and Model, My 2005 Magnum R/T will not completely dis-able the E.S.P. without the G.S.M. torque/fan mod or pull fuse 17 or unpluging the newly discovered G-unit (dynamics sensor)

only SRT8 and police vehicles have three mode ESP that can be completely disabled.

After playing with the new tuner and having pulled fuse 17 and experimented, I NEVER want to go with it completely gone, it is just an extra insurance policy with it on in "reduced" effect mode. Of course just my opinion.

You guys with superchips may try this too, cause someone @ superchips mentioned some cars that previously could not do this, will now have SRT8 type ESP switching with the Superchips install. Mine doesn't seem any different though.

    Just a thought.

I will give it a try in the am. I had heard that was the case but forgot about trying it. I have a nice sandy parking lot nearby, if it is willing to do an un-nannyed donut that should answer it.

Magnum RTs come with ESP and a reduced ESP mode where it will let you spin tires and get much farther out of shape before going into Nanny mode and setting you straight. In reduced mode full ESP can be had by applying the brake (from the manual). The SRTs and police vehicles also have ESP "off" or holly sh11t! mode where you can get into trouble all by yourself. If I remember right this is requires a push of the ESP off button within 8 seconds of starting the car.

If the SRT guys or of course our resident funky one could help with the right info if I am way off, I would appreciate it.

YOUR CAR IS NEVER GOING TO GO ALL OFF UNLESS YOU PULL THE FUSE OR INSTALL A MOD!!!

That was not the question you asked. You asked is it off or half on.

I have heard 20% is left on.
