    Angry Drove An R/T With Road And Track, All Was Good Until....

    I had a report that there was a black R/T Charger with the road and track perf group at the local dealer, in black even! Well, I cruised on by and there it was. All it needed to be perfect was no sunroof and uconnect. Almost perfect. Gotta take it out, nice rumble, the exhaust tone is different than the regular R/T's. Get out, go down the street, make a right, the guy tells me to drop the hammer, I oblige, man this thing really pulls.........sputter...........sputter........... die. Yup, ran out of gas around the block from the dealer. Walked back, got some gas, fired it up, and we continued. This thing pulls HARD!! Handling is real flat. Seats are GREAT! Tranny shifts great! They're the SRT-8 seats. Did a 0-60 run, and it felt like about high 5's, low 6 to 60. No doubt a 14 sec car. Get back. He tells me to roll down the left rear window. He pulls out this paper that got jammed in the window felt. Guess what it said on it? "Market adjustment" or some ****. $5000!!!! He then tells me that "we don't make much on these things, but we'll take sticker" Thanks bud, I walked away. Told me some crap about the road and track group is hard to come by. I can just order one for me. Tried to tell me it's a rare car. Gimmie a break. I'm gonna keep the Ram, need it to tow the trailer, but I'll get the Charger to do the daily thing. I know there's dealers that'll deal, I just wanted to see what the "local" one would do. Here's a pic of Red and my 25' trailer in Pismo Beach a few months ago.

    Nice write up

    Last time I took a car for a test drive and ran out of gas it was one of those Pontiac zippos... what were they called? Oh yea, Fiero... ran out about a mile from the dealer... called my daughter to come get me, she took me back to the dealer where I tossed the the keys and told them where to find it. Got in my car and left...!

    I was curious about an SRT and went for a test drive. Left an owner that night.

    Good sales guy, and I had all the time in the world and was ready to walk if he couldn't deal. Don't give up!
