    Damage to stock ground affects

I did post this on another forum also but what do you guys think of the plastic "ground affects" that are on each side of the my Charger below the door IE on the rocker panels .......?

    What about your cars?
A)Are they straight as an arrow?
B)Have a little wave to them?
C)Look like the ocean during a hurricane?
D)The gap between the door and the ground affect currently too big?

Long story short it looked like our car was on a lift and instead of being on the frame they were on the ground affects. The dealer agreed to fix it. Even after replacing each side with brand new parts they are still wavy and don't fit up tight in the wheel well.
Am I overreacting? Are all Chargers as bad as mine? I don't want to screw the dealer over if that is just the way they are. I'm used to working in thousandths of an inch everyday and this just looks bad to me.

There are 2 Daytona's and 1 SXT at work and the TB Daytona looks as bad as mine, the Torred Daytona looks really good. The SXT has a little wave to them but not bad. These are ours after being fixed.

I dunno, I'm not liking the wave either. You have a limited production car so you want it to be as perfect as possible. It seems to me that it was lifted at the wrong points. Are you sure they replaced it? They might've lied to you lol. What I would do is have them replace it again, but this time make a small red dot with a Sharpie in a hidden place so that you know for sure it was changed. Good luck!

Mine looks like yours in the before picture, I could just fit a piece of paper in the gap.

It's possible the rocker panel is bent where the ground effect bolts to. I would have a reputable body shop take a look to get an experienced opinion.

just checked mine out....no where near that gap....looks like yours are not clipped in properly at the top and causing it to droop....bringing along the piece on the fender....did you check the tops of the panel covers to see if clips are loose or it's not seated properly. I remember reading these things come off pretty easy....and no you're not over reacting ....make them fix it...that gap is huge

Thanks for the info guys. From what I gather most of the Chargers have the same deal with the rocker mouldings. I guess I am just picky about it. The gap is a lot worse and I am going to have that taken care of. The waves I'll just have to live with. They did replace them as the first set was crushed pretty badly. I have an inside spy there that does the ordering of parts.

The body shop they use is one of the most reputable in the area, don't know about now though. They are "busy" and I think they are trying to hurry me in and out of there. The quality of the paint on the rocker moulding is great, they just didn't get them adjusted good enough yet.

I took mine off to paint and i had an issues with one side it wouldn't line up by the back door and it had a big gap between the front section and the back section..what I did was elongate the hole where the two pieces pop rivet together instead of using the plastic pop rivets I used clips and screws this curred the gap and the back went right into alignment. I still think something is up with yours you shouldn't be able to see the top fasteners.....how is the alignment on the top of your doors? does everything else look ok?
