    Charger Trunk And Stock Sub

I have a Charger SXT, and I was wondering: how do i check to see if I have the stock subwoofer, I didn't even think to ask the dealer. I got outside and looked in my trunk and folded down the back seats and tried to look in the space between that hard material and the roof of the trunk under the 6x9's on the rear deck to see if I could see one in there, but I couldn't tell. I have decent bass in my car is why I was wondering. And the hard material under the 6x9's, that is like a shell type thing, can I just take that and the ugly padding out from under the 6x9's and leave the trunk roof bearbone, or does it look tacky?

You don't want to remove that shell. They are what make your speakers sound as good as they do. Apparently the speakers are not "free-air" speakers. They require the box, or enclosure you described to sound good.

Ok, well reason I ask is I'm taking all the stock stuff out, but with the subwoofer, how do I check to see if I have it?

If you have to ask that question, I think it would be better if you left your car alone or had a shop do your work, for your own safety and the sake of self preservation. This conclusion is based on a culmination of your posts in total. "There is no stupid question" I agree 100% but the questions DO lead to the ability to judge one's competency within the subject matter.

Enjoy the ride and DON'T BREAK IT!

They do have a sub made by kicker for the charger. It is custom fitted to the cars wheel well and is 10". It looks good meshed in the car but it probably wont give you what your are looking for for bug bass. This is also a reason doge made the 6x9's covered. If you do decide to place a sub in the trunk, the air being displaced by the sub will cause more fluctuation in your cones and will cause them to become distorted and blow. So that shell behind them is a really good thing. The factory sub you are looking for comes with the srt8's and you can purchase them online for about $500.
