A few questions.... Is it a magnum with single 4bbl, 2 4's or a six pack, automatic or 4spd. As far as matching numbers, there is no such thing on Mopars. The build dates need to be within the range and the equipment needs to be the same as original. Every part on the car has a build date either stamped into it or cast on it. The build dates all have to be before the "born" date of the complete car.

I think $9000 is high unless its a rare car with everything there as it was when it was built.

Now on Resto... If you are planing to do a full rotisserie restoration save your money. Spent the 50-60-70k on one done because you will spent that or more on a resto that will take 2-3 years.

I also think thats high. Perfectly restored ones with 383 can be found for in the $50,000 range. If you want to build a tribute hemi car or one with the new gen hemi's it might make sense. At least body parts are available to fix the rust. If you built a driver with new hemi, it probably would be worth more than a restoration of that car, nice wheels, brakes, suspention upgrade and fuel efficient hemi, nice paint!

??????? Mopars do in fact have matching numbers. The engines and trannys are stamped to match VIN. There are some people who have paid 5 figures to regain an engine that was originally in a particular car.

This particular Challenger could be worth some serious cash especially being a big block car. Ebodies bring stupid money especially 70-71s. If the car is complete $9k is a legitimate offer and may actually be a deal. Best advice is to get some pics and try www.moparts.com
