Carbon Fiber Roof - officially in the works

i just wanted to give everyone interested an update on the cf roof mod. well, it's finally going to happen. carbon by design is doing it for me. it will not be from a mold, instead an overlay, off a new metal factory roof (sheet). i was trying to see if it's something that can be made for multiple rides, but john (cbd) gave me the bad news. the bad news is that there are actualy 6 different roof's for the charger in 06 and 07. apparently there are three different sun roofs, two different sat antena and non-sun roof.
the metal roof should be on order and cbd should have it sometime next week, then cbd will start the overlay. i figure that i'm looking at 2-4 weeks to get it, then once i get it, i will have to clear it and adhere it to my stock roof. of course i will keep all of you posted and there will be pix. here's a current pic. i can't wait to see the after. i hope to have the grip rocker's on by then as well.

man, i tried. i just found out recently on the different roof's. i thought that there would only be one damn roof. i was going to go as far as to driving to baltimore for a straight overlay. this works out even better. plus, with the matching weave, which is hard to find. sorry!

So is this just a over lay(for looks), or a actual performance mod? Because if it saves like a 100 pounds I am in. If its just for looks I doubt the company will get a return.

Now that will make you stand out of the crowd... But since its a one-off why didnt you opt for it being molded rather than an overlay? could reduce the weight and improve performance. Either way, You are the only one I can think of that needs this mod to complete the look...
