Thumbs up Bad Nanner's first outing

Hi gang! 'Have something I've gotta share with you (proud papa & all that ):

Last night, in his very first outing to the track with his sweet new Dodge Charger Daytona, "Bad 'Nanner" (BADNANR), my son Mike broke into the 13s.

Pretty darn amazing when you think about how many are still looking for their first 13, even back on the east coast, where Density Altitude works greatly to one's favor.

Density altitude last night was somewhere around 1200', maybe 1000' by the end of the night's sessions.

When you look at my best, last night, of 13.1, and Mike's best of 13.9, that's only 8 tenths separating those two cars.

And Mike was on 20" street tires, the factory F1 RSAs, which are just a smidge under 28" in diameter, vs. my 25.4" dia. BFG DRs.

    Dayum!

Had we swapped rear wheels & tires last night, Mike would have gotten approx. .2 quicker.

I would have gotten .2 slower.

Which means Mike would have been running 13.7s and I'd have been running 13.3s.

For a delta of only .4 seconds.

And I've been at this for 2 years and Mike just started.

    Double dayum!!

    Congratulations Mike. Well done!

You can see and read more of Bad Nanner, and Mike, here: Junior's got his Banana - pics!

I've included a few pics for your viewing enjoyment, below:

Not too shabby, Jim. But then considering the lineage, I'm not surprised!

Thanks, everyone, for those very kind words.

Mike is planning on adding a AirHammer to the mix fairly soon, so I'd best be on my toes.

I was looking for a particular thread by my old man (more on that later), and I found this one...
