Anyone heard of this intake brand?

I found this "Kool Vue" brand intake and have never heard of it. It comes with a heat shield, filter, and tube for $89 with free shipping on autoparts warehouse's website. Anyone heard of it before? I am close to getting it, cause I have been waiting to get an intake and for that price it seems like I could upgrade the filter and still come out ok. Thoughts?

I know there are tons of HOW-TO install threads on here for various mods and upgrades... if you have the time take some pics of before and after, and during the install per the instructions and any trouble/variations you may do.... I am sure if you include that first you will spark tons of interest, or kill the idea of using this intake, whatever the case may be! Best of luck!!!

well considering that's not a charger headlight I dont know how it would work. I have seen some styled like that but the right shape on ebay.

Well, the intake is out on the UPS truck for delivery, so I find out today if this intake is any good or not. I ordered it last Tuesday, and it's Tuesday today, so one week elapsed from ordering to process and shipping, from California for free. Not too bad I guess. I will post a pic of it when I open it up and let you all know if it was a waste of money or not.

Well dang!! I guess I was just in time. I wonder what's up with that? I wonder if it was a mistake originally, or if it was just a special going on for a while. A $60 increase overnight is strange.

Not if the original had a really cheap filter and now it doesn't. Thats the one big thing about an intake, in terms of big ticket items. When I spec'd out the Frankentake project, I had about $105 in total cost... and $50 of that was the filter because I chose a really good 6-ply S&B that was very large becasue we knew from the MFO tests that bigger was better on these air-greedy motors.

Either that or its just frickin' greed.

Markio I've been following this thread and the one thing you need to watch out for -- the biggest place where corners are going to get cut -- is the filter. All the rest is just simple parts that are easy to source anywhere on the internet. Your tube looked kinda nice IIRC since it was a metal mandrel elbow and not a rubber or silicone one.

Yeah, I hear ya. I made my own intake for my 08 Avenger and I know exacty what you mean. The filter was half of my cost. From the get go though, my thought was that if this intake (everything but the filter) was decent I could make it alot better with a simple filter upgrade. Most of the cheap intakes on ebay looked like they had decent tubes, but none came with heat shields. That is what made me decide to go for it. As far as the filter goes, I could always just use the one that comes with this as a temporary one while I am cleaning the better one or something. We'll see. I do know it got delivered and I am anxious to get home and see it. 20 more minutes of work and I'm outta here!!
