    Amps?

ok, question, if I am getting new front speakers and I bypass the stock amp with the wiring harness that crutchfield has to do so, then run the components off a new amp connected to a new HU, will the power drawn from the car from the new 200-250 watt class a/b amp be the same power (or less) drawn by the old factory 260-270 watt amp? Thanks!

Reading between the lines, if you are asking whether the electrical system can handle the 250W aftermarket amp, the answer is absolutely. I'm running close to 750 watts in my 300c and haven't done any electrical upgrades. Obviously, use the appropriate guage cables required by your amp's manual. You may find that your dash and headlights dim when the bass hits. Many members have installed capacitors to help with this.

Your direct question about whether your aftermarket amp will draw the same power is hard to say without testing. My guess is that it will draw more. BUT, I have a fairly high confidence that after installing your aftermarket 250 watts, you'll be questioning whether the factory is counting by two's when rating their amp as 250+ watts.

Ok cool, the reason I ask is I'm also gonna have an Elemental Designs NiNE.1 running 2 12's sealed in the trunk (about 1200-1400 watts RMS from that amp).
