2006 Dodge Charger Seen Yesterday (11/11/04)

When I was driving north on I-75, just north of Saginaw, MI just after lunch time, I seen a new Dodge Charger, it had the front nose clip and rear covered. It was driving south FROM the test track in Brimley, MI. I kinda have an inside person on some of the details, they will have the same options as the 300 and magnum, as far as engines go and that does include a 6.1L SRT8 version. He said it felt a bit faster than the 300 and magnum that he tested last year, and it had a throatier exhaust on it. He said it looks a bit better than the 300 and magnum, because it has more refined lines on it. It will have traction control and a stability system. I asked about an all-wheel drive version, he said they haven't seen one, but just like the 300 and Magnum, they didn't test the all-wheel drive versions until the rear-wheel drive versions were released.

Sorry, no pictures. Since I was headed north and they were headed south it was pretty hard for me to get my camera out. It looked just like the pictures that have been posted already.

Yeah, but the SRT model will have the 6.1L, and with more HP then it does it the 300C SRT-8.

If I saw a Charger driving the opposite direction on the highway, I would have pulled some sort of barrel roll manuever over the median and then a fishtailing burnout u-turn. Then I would have chased it down and taken all the pictures I could take.

Will HID headlights be an option? I kind of like the looks FROM the rear end shot. I know it does not look like the old 69 (best looking car Dodge ever made IMHO) but it is OK.

On the SRT-8, HID's might be optional.

I'm sorry, but this is one spot Chrysler is SERIOUSLY lacking in. Why is it so hard for them to offer Projector HIDs on their cars when HYUNDAI and KIA do it. Those two companies have HIDs as an option on almost every one of their vehicles, and they usually don't come close to the pricing that DCX cars are at. The list of cars that have had HID Projectors FROM Chrysler is VERY short. Why can't they just mold up some sets of projectors and NOT rip people off?

i believe the legunzas(sp?) have them, and if you trot on over to www.streekiaz.com you should be able to find more than a few sephia's that have them aftermarket for a couple bills.

i will say this much. if a ford fucus can have hids, there is no reason we shouldnt

Well, aftermarket, any car can have them. Not that I don't think Chrysler shouldn't offer HID's, I do. But Kia doesn't either.
