2006 Canadian Charger Pricing & Info

Dodge Announces Pricing for All-New 2006 Dodge Charger

    Windsor, Ontario, Apr 06, 2005
-Dodge Charger is back…starting at $27,495
-Electronic Stability Program (ESP), All-speed Traction Control and Anti-Lock Brake system standard on all models
-Modern design for today’s muscle car enthusiasts

DaimlerChrysler Canada today announced pricing for the all-new Brampton-built 2006 Dodge Charger. Featuring modern coupe styling with four-door functionality, rear-wheel drive muscle car genes, available HEMI V-8 performance and a host of standard safety and security technology, the 2006 Dodge Charger captures the essence of Dodge Chargers from the 1960s, ‘70s and ‘80s in a modern interpretation.

The Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) for the all-new 2006 Dodge Charger is $27,495. The Dodge Charger will begin to arrive in dealerships this spring.

“Priced right in the sweet spot of the four-door sedan market between $28,000 and $38,000, Dodge Charger competitors will be hard pressed to offer a car with as much power, personality and technology as this modern muscle machine,” said Mike Accavitti, Vice President Marketing, DaimlerChrysler Canada. “We expect the Dodge Charger to build on the momentum already generated in the marketplace by the Chrysler 300, Dodge Magnum and Dodge Caravan with industry-leading Stow ‘n Go seating.”

The 2006 Dodge Charger lineup provides a full range of performance to match a variety of driving styles, situations and road conditions. Every Dodge Charger is equipped with standard world-class ride and handling and accident-avoidance features, including ESP, All-speed Traction Control and ABS.

    2006 Dodge Charger SE

The 2006 Dodge Charger SE is equipped with a 2.7-litre V-6 engine, coupled with a four-speed automatic transmission which offers 190 horsepower and 190 lb.-ft of torque. The Dodge Charger SE provides an outstanding blend of performance and fuel economy at an estimated 11.4 L/100 km in the city and 7.7 L/100 km on the highway. Other standard features on the Dodge Charger SE include air conditioning, 17-inch steel wheels, wheel covers and tires, AM/FM/CD radio system with four speakers, driver and passenger lumbar support seating, electric rear window defroster, manual tilt and telescoping steering column, power mirrors, power windows (driver one-touch) and locks with auto reverse sensing system, power trunklid release, remote keyless/illuminated entry and speed control.

The starting MSRP of the 2006 Dodge Charger SE is $27,495.

    2006 Dodge Charger SXT

The 2006 Dodge Charger SXT comes with a standard 3.5-litre High Output V-6 engine that delivers 250 horsepower @ 6400 rpm and 250 lb.-ft of torque @ 3800 rpm. This vehicle comes equipped with a five-speed automatic transmission with AutoStick.

In addition to the Dodge Charger SE standard features, Dodge Charger SXT includes 17-inch aluminum wheels and tires, 60/40 split folding rear seat with centre armrest, leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, eight-way power adjustable driver’s seat, fog lamps, illuminated vanity mirrors, chrome grille and Boston Acoustic Sound System with six speakers and 276-watt digital amplifier.

The starting MSRP of the Dodge Charger SXT is $31,385.

    2006 Dodge Charger R/T

The 2006 Dodge Charger R/T model is equipped with a 5.7-litre HEMI V-8 engine with MDS, which offers 340 horsepower and 390 lb.-ft of torque. The MDS seamlessly alternates between four cylinder mode when less power is needed and V-8 mode when more power is in demand. This increases fuel economy up to 20 percent depending on driving conditions, without sacrificing vehicle performance.

Standard features on the 2006 Dodge Charger R/T beyond those on the Dodge Charger SXT include performance brakes and suspension with two-piston calipers, 18-inch aluminum wheels and performance touring tires, dual-bright exhaust tips, power heated/folding mirrors, leather–faced seats with heated front seats, power adjustable pedals, satin silver interior accents and tire pressure monitor.

The starting MSRP of the Dodge Charger R/T is $37,550.

The 2006 Dodge Charger SE, SXT and R/T are available in seven exterior colours, including Bright Silver Metallic, Inferno Red Crystal Pearl, Brilliant Black, Magnesium Pearl, Midnight Blue Pearl, Cool Vanilla and Silver Steel Metallic.

Additional passive and active safety and security features on all 2006 Dodge Charger models include rear sill reinforcement and structure, energy-absorbing steering column, advanced multi-stage driver and front passenger airbags, occupant classification system, a tire-pressure monitoring system and available side-curtain airbags.

Production of the 2006 Dodge Charger SE, SXT and R/T will begin this month at the Brampton Assembly Plant in Ontario with vehicles available in North American markets later this spring. The 2006 Dodge Charger joins the award-winning Dodge Magnum and Chrysler 300 vehicles already built there.
    --------------------------------------------

Just a note, it is interesting that the Canadian Charger will come standard with the 2.7L, because the U.S version will come with the 3.5, and the Canadian 300 also comes standard with the 3.5.

These DC marketing guys just ramble on about how great the price points are on their cars as if they've never heard of dealer markup.

Attitudes are contagious. Mine might kill you.

No mention of a Daytona. Does that mean we are'nt getting them up here. Just like it was with the Motorsports Intrepid. I sure would like to see what the SRT pricing will be.

There won't be any dealer markups on this car.

Anybody who pays dealer markup has chosen to do so. There are enough dealers that you can pay invoice or below for any normal production car, including the LX cars. I have a Magnum on order for $300 below invoice. While it is not a HEMI, the same dealer would sell me as many HEMI LX cars as I want for invoice or below.

Please keep your negative anti DCX thoughts off this board if you can't keep them somewhat constrained. I know this last post wasn't all that bad (considering what your normal posts contain over at DI.net), but be advised, you'll be watched with close eyes here (and unlike there, I have the power to ban people here).

    Have a nice day.

Interesting that the 2.7 with the 5 speed gets the same mileage as the 2.7 with the ultradrive 25 city,37 Highway.

What is odd is that in Canada they get the 2.7 base but all their Caravans have v6 and their base 300 was always the 3.5
