    Angry Winter driving morons!!!

You guys living in those sunshine states can't relate I know.... but us other poor saps living in the winter belt know what I'm talking about. Winter driving is stressful enough.... it's not getting stuck or spinning out of control yourself that you have to worry about so much, it's about NOT getting hit by some other stupid moron driver that STILL hasn't learned how to drive in the winter. I'm talking about the frickin A-holes that just jump in thier car without brushing the snow off thier car, thier headlights, tailights, 3rd brakelight and back windshield is all coverd up. Then all the snow that they left piled on the roof is blowing onto the cars behind them. And headlights? Nope. More cool I guess to drive stealth than to make themselves visible to other drivers. Or even cooler... just turn on the parking lights or driving lights rather than the headlights. Good tires? Who needs them. Just drive on the half bald ones, because what the hell, winter will be over in a few months anyways, right? Stupid, just stupid.

Yesterday I was behind this idiot in a Dodge caravan in the left lane of a 3 way highway. The whole back window was a sheet of snow and pieces of it started blowing onto the front of my car. The heck with this says I, so I get into the middle lane cause it was clear and started to pass her. Just when the front of my Mag was up to her right rear corner panel, she decides she wants to change lanes.... no turn signal or nothing.... cause the idiot couldn't even see that a car was behind her. So I almost got side swiped. Then her and her passenger look at me like I'm doing something wrong when I passed by them. What a couple of assclowns.

That's a bummer! AT least you avoided it. The only arguement I might make is that there is no, and I mean NO, way that I will brush snow off of any painted portion of my car. Lights and windows are a must though.

I never could figure why no matter where you decide to go, there are always a couple driving 20mph too fast or 20mph to slow.

How bout this? You get stuck behind one driving 20mph to slow and then you are approaching a hill that is a little steep and you know is slicker than an eel in a bucket of snot and what does this brilliant person do? That''s right, instead of increasing speed to get enough momentum to get up the hill they hit the brakes and slow down to a crawl.

Now you are really stuck because he can't get up the hill and gets crossways blocking all chances of you getting where you want to go.

I agree regarding the snow on top of the car issue. I once saw an officer have a person remove a mountain they had on top of the car as they were about to enter the battery tunnel in New York. Such a road hazard and so easy to remove.

hey I live in LA, we have those a-holes year around... and when it rains-- well that is a signal to go faster and run red lights.....

it's a war zone, get out the artillery cause it isn't getting better it's getting worse because no one teaches their kids any kind of respect for the world around them, they are all from the disposable, daddy will buy me another one so I don't give a fuc$ generation and they are teaching their little $hit kickers the same if not worse habits...

You may want to leave it in a garage then, they are finnaly starting to write tickets for that kind of additude. It is a serious hazard for the other drivers, not to mention an interesting display of your disreguard for fellow drivers, says alot about you.

Not a good answer, maybe you would prefer someone to remove the snow off your paint by crashing into your pride and joy because they did not notice you brake as they where blinded by all the snow blowing off your roof

Removing snow from a car is easy. Warm it up first, the lowest layer will melt and you'll have a hydro-barrier. Give a light "pop" on top with your hand to break it into smaller pieces and push, it'll slide right off. I know. I did it tonight on the hood of our Ram. She has to drive it tomorrow, block heaters' plugged in, it's 14* outside...wigglewigglewiggle on the snow, it's loose, hook a finger underneath...off it comes in about six pieces. Haven't scratched a car yet, not even my black 99 Ram. What scratches is the brush, not the snow.

Besides. Would you rather buff some scratches, or stop and help someone who is off the road because of debris from your car going through their windshield (not an exaggeration- frozen snow is as hard as glass at 65mph).

Don't be a d**k. Clean your car properly before you hit the road and show some respect for your fellow drivers, even if they don't return the favor very often.

Today i was on a windy open stretch of highway....suddenly the brake lights went on in front of me..I leave plenty of following distance in front of me (keep the windshield clean)...I put on my hazards and brake.....NO TRACTION AT 100kms/hr!! So now we're all sliding like fools on the highway....i have great snowtires and lots of room ahead of me. Unfortunately for the guy not paying attention behind me he hits the brakes, countersteers (I thought he would hit me) and spins into the ditch on the left! I drove on, calling 911 and there were two other cars in the ditch!! My father in law told me later that 15 cars found the ditch today!!!

Moral of the story, stay alert, keep the speed down, and keep your distance!

I'm even more of a dork than you; here's my 'snow brush'; Genuine sheepskin Simoniz wash mitt:

A lot gentler on the paint than a brush, and it keeps your hand from freezing while brushing too.
