Will 17's fit on an R/T

I am in the process of buying an 05' R/T RWD with the 18" rims, I have found a guy with brand new 17" SXT tires and alum rims (take off's at a tire dealer)for $400-$500 for the set. I would like to use these rims for a set of snow tires. Will 17"'s fit or are the R/T brakes/calipers bigger?

direct fit as long as the 17s are also from a RWD car.

WOW, that was a fast response! The AWD rims have different back spacing don't they? It seems to me the wheel centres appear to be a little shallower on an AWD car.

Yep SRT's have bigger brakes to watch spacing on and AWD have a different offset..

Other then that the SE, SXT, and RT wheels are all the same other then the obvious finishes etc. but bolts and offsets etc match.

but theres a catch. tried putting 17" steelies on a daytona once for winter tires. calipers grabbed the wheels, wouldnt turn. maybe thats due to the different caliper, but something to be aware of.

R/T has larger brakes that the base and SXT models.. no the 17's dont' directly fit on the front..

I know I tried, I have a set of 17 inch steelies in my garage that belong to CV3ohoh, I wanted to get my wheels re-powder coated and tried to use his..

the 17's DO NOT fit on the front.. PERIOD the offset is wrong, the brake disc is bigger on the R/T than the SXT or SE.. the R/T IIRC is a 14 inch Disc the SE/SXT is a 12 inch disc..

with the caliper the 17's do not fit.

The brakes are bigger in the front of the R/T's......17" won't fit.
