I have a 300 with the front end clunk over bumps. No warranty

I took the car to a mechanic in Sept 08. He said its a bad tire rod and replaced the part. Afterward the noise was still there but much quieter. He said it was a tension rod and when it got bad enough bring it back and they would replace that.

So In April 08 I complain to a tire shop that is putting on my new tires and they say I need a new upper control arm, a tension rod and sway bar links, So I get that done. Same thing. the noise is quieter but its still there.

So the noise has been getting worse and worse and last week I take it to a Chrsysler dealer. He tells me I need a new ball joint. I think two tie rods and a tension rod. (I havnt got the work done yet so not sure if I have the parts listed right) They had to order a bunch of the parts so I am getting it done on Friday.


So my problems is I understand the parts he is talking about might need to be replaced but I am only interested in fixing the clunking sound right now. The cost is around $1,300 to do what he said.

so If I pay $1,300 to repair the car and it doesnt get rid of the noise I will lose my mind. The car drives fine and handles fine. The only sign of trouble is the clunking.
