    Wheel Wax

I’ve never been one to recommend products, but I tried one that I think is pretty nice. I saw Wheel Wax advertised in Autoweek, and tried it thinking it might help cut down on brake dust, water spots and general gunk build-up on my wheels so I wouldn’t have to scrub and wipe as hard when I washed my ride. I’ve been really impressed with the results. Not only has it performed as advertised, it has actually added a bit of a gleam and shine to the rather dull finish of my stock Magnum RT AWD wheels. It wasn’t available locally, so I had to order on line. www.wheelwax.com if anyone is interested.

You gotta use the right wax for the right job. Very important. Car wax for the car. Wheel wax for the wheels. Ear wax for the ears...

My sister lives in Michigan and I used to live in SoCal. She came out to visit once and asked my why I would leave sex wax sitting out in the living room.

One of the funniest things she ever said!

Glad I was able to bring some chuckles to the board! Maybe I’m just too up tight about my car care. I use 14 different products to detail specific areas. I feel car wax is designed to protect paint, and that’s what I use it for.

There are lots of products designed to clean, shine, polish and protect your wheels/rims available, and this is one of them. I tried it and liked it, and thought some of you might, too.

For wheels that are clearcoated, I feel like regular wax/sealant should be fine. If my wheels were uncoated polished aluminum, I'd clean them with metal polish instead. Make sure you know what your wheel's finish is before you follow anybody's advice on care. Metal polish would ruin clearcoated metal.

I agree with Black on Black's advice not to use metal polish on the stock Magnum wheels! However, this product is not metal polish. By the way, American Racing recommends and sells this product on its website for all of its wheels, including clear coated wheels.

Naaa your not uptight, nothing better then doing your best to protect your investment. Just a little fact in case your new to car care wax the inside of your rims too. Why? some might ask, it helps keep brake dust from building up and makes them easier to clean.

I made fun of it but I found the local dealer and I'm picking it up tomorrow morning in Anaheim...
