    What's your oil change technique?

Do drive the car onto ramps? Jack it up? Or??

I'm ready for the first oil change with my Magnum R/T. My last 4 vehicles were SUV's that I could climb right under. This car sits too darn low for that.

Any oil change tips would be appreciated.

    Drive it....................................... to the Dealer..

For what my Dealer charges for an oil change, (buy a pre-paid card, 8 changes for $120 bucks) I see no reason to go buy the parts, crawl under the car, spill oil all over the garage floor, & then have to get rid of the old oil.

i would go with ramps and then chock the rear wheels. me personally, i use jacks and i do my change. luckily the oil plug is in the rear of the car so you just need to jack up the front end to get all the oil out.

I've got a set of long ramps. Up it goes, chock the rear, all done.

Wow, this is great timing. I have 7 quarts of oil out in my driveway right now.

With two wheelbarrows worth of woodchips on it.

So my tip is this: before you put the drainpan underneath, make sure to remove the plug on the topside.

    That is all.

Drive through Mr. Lube, stop fifteen minutes, listen to complaints about the extra work on the 300. Get AAA discount, pay and drive out. Oh sorry, forgot coffee and free newspaper while waiting the 15 minutes.

Dealer ... $29.27 tax included ... 7 quarts 5w-20 and filter ... in and out in less than 1/2 hour ... plus $3.00 for a dozen glazed donuts for the guys in the shop... my time is worth a lot more money ...

Your personal relationship with your dealer's service department may vary ...

I use to use jack & stands, got lazy and a set of Rhino ramps last year. On the lower ones I have some boards I lay out in front of the ramps for additional clearance so the front bumper cover does not touch the ramp.
I change the oil on all 3 of our vehicles. Never had an issue with spills/making a mess, maybe a splash spot or two from time to time.
Have a city recycling center to take the filters/oil to. Been doing this for 12 years now.

    Diy

All DIY here, I service my own fleet of service trucks as well as my SRT.

Most important detail for a car nut is to FILL THE FILTER!

No dry starts in my driveway. Plus, I know what's up with the vehicles. I would NEVER let a stealership touch my car unless absolutely necessary.

Similar situation here. Been changing my own oil since I bought my house with garage in 1995. One set of Rhino ramps, a wheel chock, low height drain pan, oil recyling center in my town too.

I use ramps to do the oil change, since I added the Danko chin spoiler, I will have to modify the ramps - so the spoiler doesn't rub on the ramps................

BTW.........for my RT it is 6.5 quarts of oil, 7 quarts overfills the engine(on mine)

DIY here too. Rhino ramps and most importantly, Fumoto oil valve (the one with the nozzle). Attach a hose and run to your pan, makes spills a thing of the past. Most local auto parts chains will take your old oil too.

Ramps and the fumoto valve for me. Haven't spilled anything since that nice little valve came in.
