What is this and where does it belong... it fell out of my dash

On my way home from work a couple nights ago I hit a pot hole (I usually avoid them but this particular road is literally comprised of pothole patches). It was a pretty bad one too, I wasn't going very fast but it gave the car a really good jar.

As soon as it happened I felt something land by my foot. I waited to get home to look at it and this is what I found.




For size reference it is about 3/4" x 3/4" x 3/4"

I took a look up underneath the driver side dash and couldn't find where it goes. I'm starting to think that it may fallen through one of the slots is the carpet trim cover for the pedals.

Anybody got any ideas? I really would like to put it back where it belongs.

No Kidding mine fell this week too. Not sure where it belongs.

Well I found out where it goes... not really sure what (if anything) it does.

Gee whiz!! Did the interior have to be stripped down to that in order to find out where that piece goes? j/k lol
