Talking What a noob I am!

I had my first experience with a RWD drive car, traction control, and ABS brakes in the rain.

I never owned a car with either RWD or ABS before, so im driving along, and a reasonable speed, see a red light, start slowing down, and next thing it feels like my brakes are shuddering to stop.

I go into an instant panic because Im used to my 3000gt breaking down on me all the time so im thinking, I just got this damn car! no!!!
Then my brain kicked in and explained what it was.

Then the light turns green, and i applied the gas as I would have any other car, nothing excessive, and my freaking back tires break loose and bounce around, car is screaming traction control at me. Im trying to figure out wtf is going on before I realize I must have applied too much gas, even though I barely touched it.

This would have been fine except my friends were in the car behind me and proceeded to laugh at me all during lunch.

thought id share my humiliating noobish encounter with RWD and traction control

Since you're in Florida, I know it wasn't icy roads. Maybe an oil slick road after a rain shower? If it was dry, I think you need to remove that lead weight from your right foot!

What kind of car did you drive before? Sounds like you might need to find a vacant road to get the "feel" for your car. Thanks for sharing!

Ok so the GTO part of your name I can guess translates to the Jap version of the 3KGT/Stealth. However, Isn't the 'silvia' ALSO the Jap name of the 240SX which is pretty much the last RWD Jap import? Just thinkin out loud here because I can't tell if you're tellin' or trollin'

Youre the first person to ever decipher my screename! Most people are like OMG youre a girl called Silvia and you drive a pontiac GTO!!!! erm.. no. Im not trolling. I own a magnum now. I thought id share my noob experience with RWD, traction control and ABS.
My two favorite cars are the Silvia and the 3000gt/GTO. I did own a 3000gt before the magnum, and my 3kgt had much better tires than what came stock with my maggie, so yes, I need to re adjust my driving skills, which I have so far. Never owned a Silvia.

In fact when I was younger I swore up and down id never own an american car, and not only am I driving a magnum, im completely in love with it, im eating my words with a lot of people right now.

Well, if it makes you feel better, you can say you own a Canadian/Mexican car!

    Glad you're enjoying your Magnum!
