    What are the CV joints?

    Hi friends!

Please explain me what and where are those CV joints that should be inspected (said in the manual) at each oil change. Thanks in advance!

Constant Velocity Joints. They are next to the rubber boots on the axles and the only thing you can really inspect is the boot to make sure it's noot torn......beyond that if they are not clicking don't worry about them.

yeh...someone didnt check mine and it blew up last year at 70 mph...the seal tore open and the joint just locked due to lack of lubrication.

Guys I also have one more question. Where are those rubber seals on each side of the radiator that should be checked every month for proper fit? Thanks again.

Never knew anything like that was in the manual.

    388 MAINTENANCE SCHEDULES

    At Each Stop for Fuel
    • Check the engine oil level about 5 minutes after a fully
warmed engine is shut off. Checking the oil level while
the vehicle is on level ground will improve the accuracy
of the oil level reading. Add oil only when the
level is at or below the ADD or MIN mark.
    • Check the windshield washer solvent and add if
    required.

    Once a Month
    • Check tire pressure and look for unusual wear or
    damage.
    • Inspect the battery, and clean, and tighten the terminals
    as required.
    • Check the fluid levels of coolant reservoir and brake
master cylinder, and add as needed.
    • Check all lights and all other electrical items for correct
    operation.
Check rubber seals on each side of the radiator for
    proper fit.

    At Each Oil Change
    • Change the engine oil filter.
    • Inspect the exhaust system.
    • Inspect the brake hoses.
    • Inspect the CV joints and front and rear suspension
    components.
    • Check the coolant level, hoses, and clamps.

I'm assuming they mean the rubber and plastic air deflectors on each side of the radiator.

Have not had a look at my rad but is the manual talking about trans. lines [seals] o-rings at the rad? I would not believe them to talk about rad mount bushings if any? Cal
