So I took a little trip down to the Chrysler dealer today.




Fell in love with a fully loaded black 300C SRT8.



Sadly by the time we finished the test drive, the dealership had closed (we actually got LOST, no NAV disc in the NAV, grrrr) ALL members of management had left.



We began to work a "ballpark" deal and they tried to hammer me on my GTO trade because I've only had it for about 6 weeks now. I also tried to hammer them on the SRT8 price. So now I have to wait overnight and go back tomorrow to speak with the sales manager to see if I get the deal I want or not.

I work all of my deals hard to get what I want, and I'm used to getting my way... I just hope that they play ball. If so, I'll have my perty SRT in the garage. If not, it's time to buy all the goodies in my shopping cart for the GTO.

Recap for those that don't remember WHY I gave up my SRT8 Mag....(skip to next section if you DO remember)

Had a cop harrassing me about the factory tinted glass on the Mag. Only the Mag comes with 20% tint on all windows (except front sides) and the Mag is classified as an SUV. He didn't care. He popped me twice in one year, made it clear in exact words that he was glad to hit me again. As we finished up the 2nd time he told me "I'm going to hit you EVERY TIME I see your car" and this is in the town I live in.

I had 30 days until my court date, then another 30 after I went and plead not guilty. So in that 60 days there was no telling how many times he would pop me. He would get me on my way to work and I cannot be late for work even ONE time. So it was risk losing my job to keep the car and wait out the 60 days, or dump the car.

Ok, now on to the reason why I didn't get another LX....

My first trip was down to my good old Dodge dealer, figured I'd just get a Charger SRT8. Well thanks to DCX in their infinite wisdom placing SRT8's into their employee pricing so many times last year our cars are worth crap. Best offer was $31k (they could care less about the mods, and I expected to take that hit anyway) and the NEW vehicles were NOT on any incentives, so they were full priced.

Non-Dodge dealers are offering more on trades, and Pontiac gave me a better deal. The GTO is VERY comparable power-wise, and it was an all-around good deal.

Now that I have WON my court cases, AND filed a harrassment complaint against the officer I don't have to worry about any further issues.

*Side note* After owning the GTO for about a week or so the SAME cop pulled me over again simply because he recognized my custom plates and the transfer had not shown up in his system yet. Tried to nail me for illegal plate (showed registered to the Mag).

Now I see him about 3 times a week waiting along the route I travel home from work. I set my cruise to a legal speed and he zaps me everytime with the radar gun. THEN he pulls out and follows me for a couple of miles zapping me repeatedly then gives up and turns around.

So, there is my long-winded sob story.

I lost a lot on the Mag trade and I refuse to lose that much on this trade. I don't mind dropping a couple grand but refuse to do it so soon after the last loss.

Nice thing about PHX is I have limo tint all the way around and have never had one prblem.

Man that sucks! I hate cops! I just got a ticket for a modified exhaust 2 days ago. The cop was such a d$ck, he made it a non correctable offense! I don't know how much that fine is, but Ima fight it! Good luck with your deal!

it will be good for you to be back in an lx, and you wont have to worry about the tint... but, you will have to worry about mods your going to want to do... (and we all know you will,LOL) but, if its is ment to be, it will... good luck...

Bandit..He could of not wrote you more than ONE ticket before your court date anyhoo for that. He just had you scared. That is the law...And I knew you would win your court case. I had received the info back from Feds on it. Hope you get the 300!

I would have gone looking for him to see how many I could get him to write. The more he wrote, the more of an jerk he'd look like and the easier it would be to take him down with a judge.

Bandit...it's always fun chatting with ya no matter what you're driving but it would be cool to see ya get that badass lookin SRT...I'm glad you did exactly what I would have suggested regarding dealing with the dopey cop...that guy would nail you for driving a VW Bus because you were obstructing traffic it sounds like....do you have past history with that guy or what??? Either way, a modded Goat ain't such a bad thing but the 300 SRT is just a classier ride IMHO...

Don't want to hijack but back in the day when I had my old Challenger, a guy we used to torture in High School all of a sudden shows up on an otherwise "very friendly" small town police force....we are talking early 70's where the biggest threat (not kidding here) was not having to deal with the local cops, it was when you did something so stupid they put you in the squad car and brought you...."home to your old man!!!" ... Please lock me up overnight...I'll do anything....just don't pull into my Dad's driveway with me in the freakin' squad car!!! Oh, the sleepless nights of dread after one of those screw-ups....but I digress...then idiot-boy gets a uniform and decides to get revenge on every last one of us that was still in town and he made our lives miserable....what a total moron....little Napoleonic bastard....

in the future, if your stat allows it, record the idiot threatening you. get a video camera and mount it on the dash. then do something with it. no cop anywhere (that i am aware of) can ticket you for the tint on a mag that CAME ON THE CAR.
