Well here are pics of my Driveshaft from the JBA exhaust

I got home a little while ago and took pics of the Driveshaft that the dealer says was burned from my JBA exhaust.
Well you guys let me know what you think:

Well I got home from school, and here are the pics of the driveshaft.
Any ideas of what it can actually be from?

    dude thats just weird.

    -R

OK I looked again, wtf is with teh fibers ? Were they wrapped around the prop ? if thats teh case that could have caused an over heat issue from friction.

    Hi,
according to your previous post, this has been on since 2006. If this was a melt job by your exhaust, you would have smelled it and it would have happened earlier. The rubber would not have taken this long to melt down!

It looks like you hit a rabbit or sumthing by the looks of those fibers, and maybe it got stuck and caused you the vibration.........Poor rabbit, didnt stand a chance, swirling around hitting all of those shields.......j/k....but it does look like rabbit fur.

I would think by the looks of it there was some sort of misalignment. Maybe your rear axle is not squared up well causing the rubber piece to flex more than what was designed?

Or you have been power brakeing to much!

I think the fibers we are seeing are internal reinforcement of the rubber.

The Magnum has a soul. It has a personality, something all too lacking in the automotive transportation appliances everybody else is offering.

    Stunt driving?

Have you been jumping burning cars or buses?
    J/K
    That looks very strange.
And the dealer claims it was the JBA?
This should have been noticed earlier I would think.

Look at the mufflers. Looks like it was rubbing not just too close. I don't think the heat from a muffler could do that if you had at least 1/4" clearence but if it's rubbing it could.

Only thing I can think of is if it was too close to the drive shaft, then heat from the rotation cause it to worp out of shape... Just like fine sanding something down over time.. But to me it was a malfunction on the drive shaft part unless you are a stunt man.. Hope you like the fix

I'd guess that the bottom line would be "Did the new driveshaft fix your vibration problem?"

I do not think you exhaust had anything to do with it.

I think that dealer just made a bunch of money they didn't deserve.

Our catalytic converters run at around 1250 degrees F... I could believe our exhaust could melt it if it were in contact, but then the heat from friction would be 5 times higher! I don't think that even with a 1/2" air gap and the car usually in motion that the rubber could get hot enough to do that w/out a little rubba-dub-dub.

If you look closely the flex coupling isn't burned evenly around, it actually looks like it accidently got introduced to a set of torches.
