    Washer fluid problem...

Anyone else have any issues with the fluid pressure being apparently too low? Passenger side sprays OK (kind of...seems to hit lower on the windshield than usual) but the driver's side spurts out and most just ends up on the hood. I have checked the nozzles and they seem fine. Wondering if it might be the fluid pump going out. Any thoughts? If it is the pump, anyone have any idea of parts cost and how difficult to replace and if it is a DIY project?

    Thanks!!

Run pressurized air thru the nozzles, they sometimes get calcium buildups.

Any comments on how? Somew from the outside in (backflush) or through the feed line?

If you drive fast enough, the fluid will hit your window. Perhaps you can check the nozzle and see if it is plugged.

Just undo the hose from the nozzle, not hard.

Thanks for nothing, including reading my original post where I already mentioned the nozzles.

Thanks! One last thing (at the risk of being a pest)...any suggestions on how not to break those 'clips' holding the hood liner to the hood? I need to remove that to get to the underside of the nozzle areas.

Anyone out there know how to work with those plastic retainers holding the hood liner in place? Can they be removed without destroying them?

I think they just unscrew like a bolt. I don't know what style they are but if memory serves me right they just unscrew.

You can get a trim removal tool, cost a few bucks. Push the tool under the retainer then turn the retainer. it will push in the tabs and allow it to come out without damage. You can also try to push the tabs in with flat head screwdrivers. This way is very difficult and will probably destroy the retainers. If your thinking about going to the dealer, the repair is about $130. If you can't clean them, new ones cost about $30 at the dealer.

Looks like it is the pump...

anyone have any tips on how (if possible as a DIY) to replace it? I have the LX service manual (.pdf) and it shows having to remove the entire fascia, etc. just to get to it. Is that really necessary?
