    V6 stang vs. CSRT8 !!??

Ok, so my buddy in his 1998 built 3.8 liter sc’d V6 stang just ran a 13.09 @ 105.xx up here at the track in Calgary on drag radials. (I believe that puts him into the top 20 fastest V6 mustangs or something crazy – especially if you run the altitude conversion for 3500ft).

I have run consistent 13.9’s @ 105 with just intake / exhaust. I now have the B&G stage 2 that I’m hoping for 2 tenths from.

My question is, what would it take mod’s wise to get me to those kinda times??? (I’m not willing to chance breaking something running DR’s)

I think a fair run would be him with street tires on, but he wont do it.

Spray it homey! For well under the price of a supercharger and much safer you could put on a Zex wet kit and whip his v6 lovin butt!

You should be running better than 13.9s stock...

Headers and the 'juice is my opinion.

Yeah, even at 3500ft your times seem a little slow although there are a lot of factors to consider.

3500ft and a track thats falling appart with zero prep for street legals night. (60 ft times of 2.2 were the best I could manage)

I'll see where Im at with the pcm and a little beter 60' time and go from there.

What kinda quarter mile difference woul you see on a 75 shot? or Headers?

100 shot would give you about 1 second, 75 shot about .75 sec. Headers probably only 1 tenth, but the more efficient your intake and exhaust , the harder the juice will hit. Drag radials would help with the traction. Are you icing your intake? Fan mod and a 180 degree tstat? Air Hammer intake, cause you need all of that thin air that you can ran in. Thats why the Stang is running so well, supercharging allows massive amounts of air to burn the massive amount of fuel that he's getting.

I guess I’ll see where I’m at now with the B&G… The night I ran was pretty cool (15 deg C) with lots of time between runs to cool down… I have a 180 deg stat but no fan mod… from what I understand with the B&G you don’t really need the fan mod cause the pcm is turning them on at lower temps anyways…?
I also have the first gen K&N cold air intake on the car now, an Air Hammer may get me a little extra but probably not worth changing out from what I have read…

Keep the intake and get headers and/or N2O. I think you will really enjoy some cheap hp gains with the flip of a switch Good luck and please beat the Rustang!!!

At 105 mph you should be in the low 13s...

Sounds like you should work on your 60' times.

Headers won't help that much unless you really tear into the motor.Spray it and you will get the biggest bang for the buck.

Stick those 60 ft's and you will probably be faster than him, with the traction issues your MPH may be slow from feathering it. Proper traction and your car should run 12's.

    1/4 mile: 12.32 @ 111.12 MPH on a 1.72 sixty foot

At 3500’ it would take a lot more than a B&G, intake and exhaust to see 12’s.
There are a few other SRT8’s up here that are a few tenths slower that me with the same mods. The altitude really kicks the **** outa these N/A cars. The fastest SRT8 I have seen in these parts was the Jeep running a 13.7 around 103 I think.

I agree about the 60’ time killing me, but unfortunately on the track up here there is no prep for street legal’s night.
Either way, I need to get that 2.2 down to at least a 2.0 and I’m sure I’ll be happy with the results.
