    Upgrade TPM system

Has anyone tried or accomplished upgrading the standard TPM system to (guessing) the SRT8 system that actually tells tire pressure in- stead/addition to the idiot light. I understand I can get it from the diagnostic menu, just looking for a little easier way. I see it is available in the 300C, not just the SRT8 so maybe I am hopeful.

not 100% sure, but i thought all daytonas had the premium system. you should be able to access it by scrolling through the menu options.

Anybody? Played with a buddy's SRT and I definately don't have the premium system. fnkychkn, how difficult would it be to upgrade? Could I add the 3 receivers and have it enabled thru starscan?

The TPM will be under "SYSTEMS" in the evic on an SRT8.

not quite that simple. the transponders are part of a LIN bus which includes all three transponders and the WCM (wireless control module). i doubt the wiring would be there and i'm pretty sure the WCM would be different. also, the CCN (cabin compartment node/cluster) would need replacing with one with EVIC.

I have the EVIC. What do the transponders look like and where exactly are they located in the wheelwell? I saw something going from the engine bay to the wheel well and got all excited but since I had 4 I am guessing they are my ABS sensors.

    from FSM:

Vehicles equipped with the premium TPM system use transponders, sometimes referred to as trigger modules, to provide the Wireless Control Module (WCM), commonly referred to as the Sentry Key Remote Entry Module (SKREEM), with the location of the tire pressure sensors on the vehicle. A transponder is located in three of the four wheel wells on the vehicle. The transponders are located in the left front, right front and right rear wheel wells behind the wheelhouse splash shields. Only three transponders are necessary to locate the four rotating sensors because the WCM can determine the location of the fourth by using the process-of-elimination theory. Once the system knows the location of the first three sensors, it assumes the location of the fourth tire pressure sensor is in the left rear tire.

transponders are located in the front part of the wheel wells.
