    Uninvited head light guest

I had an uninvited guest (a spider) living in my driver's side headlight for a while. It seems to have vacated, but unfortunately it left behind a small web in the corner, right by the reflector. Anyone have an idea of how to get it out of there? I'm probably the only one who would ever notice it, but it doesn't belong there!

And once you break it lose with the canned air, use a vacuum to suck it out. I'm sure you'll create enough suction with a sealed enclosure.

    Just a thought........ :waah:

You could hire a one of those ship in a bottle building type guys , or wrap some gauze on the end of a coat hanger and fish it out.

That reminds me of the spider (or other bug) inside our widescreen TV (DLP) -- we'd go to zap him, but he was on the inside of the screen.
Eventually disappeared, but was a P.I.T.A.

    This begs the question --
has anyone had moisture in the headlamps?

So far, I've never seen it, but knowing that a spider got in there, who knows?
(early Lincoln LS's (2000-2001) had this problem bad -- we had an '01 and now have an '03 and they seem to have corrected the issue).

I've wondered how it got there too. I noticed it crawling around for at least a week. I'm gonna have to try the compressed air idea. I've been afraid to try sticking anything in there for fear of scratching something and making matters worse.

Heheh I had one in there. I thought the lens was scratched, but it turns out its spider webs.... NOt just 1 or 2 but quite a few actually. I'll blastthem out with some air when I do a lens swap.

    Exclamation

Whatever you do, don't apply preasurized air.

Once, my friends girlfriend had water in her headlight.
I thought, let me drill a hole in each lower corner.
I did that, then got the air compressor and stuck it to one hole.
The damn thing exploded and I was lucky not to get hurt.
    Loud as hell too!

    Be carefull!

I'm thinking more along the lines of "canned air". Shouldn't have any "explosion" problems with that.

The funniest mistakes are the ones where nobody gets hurt. Thanks for the chuckle!

Better yet, give the spider a tiny paintbrush and ask him to do it while he's in there!
