I haven't taken the time I should have to post up the results of the Sidewinder install in my early-build Magnum RT since there was just ever so much other stuff going on - and my dumbass network wasn't cooperating either. I finally figured that one out and now, on with the show!
I'm going to just put links in, since all the pics are huge, I realize not everyone has a real fast connection.. If you want to see the whole album, it's right here.
Check this out.. This initial start after the Sidewinder went in - open headers sounds pretty darn cool indeed!
I'll figure out how to do the youtube thing and add that as a reply.
Here is a clip after the Zoomers were buckled back in and it was time to start the learning-how-to-idle-again sequence.
Matt is a cool dude indeed, here he is fighting with that PITA bolt on the passenger side of the motor. I haven't ever seen my RT that far apart, ever! I can't say enough kind words about Matt (ElCobra44) - he knows what he is doing and it shows. He made it all look easy, and when my early build (10/04) configuration put a couple of "hmm, oh-oh" moments out, he didn't get flustered at all, and everything went really smoothly for the most part.
Some of the Georgia Boys showed up to umm, help? Hopefully everyone had an enjoyable time! Diego was making friends all over the place - everyone loves a Little White Dog, eh?
James brought some really nice steaks (sorry dude, I didn't get a picture!) and my buddy Mike made some super-seriously good home made Manicotti - thanks again dude, I'm having the rest of it for dinner..
It was pretty cool seeing more Magnums in the driveway, and we made the rental cars and the Mustang (Lyle's Dad's) park out on the street.
Ok, how does it run now?
Freaking NICE! My sotp dyno says 'HELL Yeah!' and seeing WAY bigger speeds in places that weren't ever that fast was an eye-opener. I usually annoy the neighbors when I pull out of the 'hood and go full throttle to the 1-2 shift and then let off. What used to be 60-ish is now 80-ish and is something I probably won't be doing much more of.
Matt and I went to Kennesaw to see who was left at the Hooters car show - only met a Black Charger whose name I disremember, so we chatted for a bit and then went inside to watch the scenery, I mean have supper. I'm going back there!!
With HAL still learning the new bits, interstate driving is way more effortless, which got even better after a 140mile trip to the airport this morning - I'm gonna have to really watch it now, 60-80 is freaking effortless now.
I'm going to try to hit the dyno in Marietta Thursday if he's open, and hopefully get to Atlanta Dragway Friday night.
A very cool addition to my RT, thanks again Matt - it was cool hanging out..
Mike
