    Question Tranny Light

    When I started my car last tonight the transmission light went on. It was on all the way home. When I started today it was out! Do you think something is wrong with my tranny? Has anyone else had this happened to him or her before?? *PLEASE NOTE: IT'S THE ENIGINE LIGHT!*

    Transmission light? I wasn't aware there was a light dedicated to the transmission.

    Key dance

    In the KB, DMAG posted a thread to check for diagnostic codes - AKA Key Dance.

    The list of what they mean is in the thread also.

    Depending on what threw the code, a 15 sec pull of fuse 11 up front should clear it for now, if it set a code.

    I've had a cel that did not set a code and did not reappear.

    first thought: did you just buy gas? if so, check your gas cap. those would be P0442, P0455, and p0456 codes displayed via a scanner, or in the cluster.

    it could b numerous things. either way u have had good trips so the dtc went from active to stored and now ur light is off.u could still do the key dance to retrieve a code.give u an idea.
