I am pretty sure you need them. New ones are a bit pricey.

The system will ding a you every 30 seconds or so if it doesn't see sensors. You can have them swapped between the wheels... cost me $180 at a dealership to dismount 8 tires, swap the sensors, and remount and balance all eight wheels.

No, but you can take your sensors out of your 06 and put them inside the 05 rims. Then your good to go, Or buy another set of Tire Pressure sensors for your new wheels. Or don't run them at all and get a ck engine light with a TPM system code. you got choices bro!

I have an 06MRT with 22's (no wheel sensors) I get a "ding" when I start up the car (this can be turned off) and my tire pressure idiot light flashes for 30 seconds every 10 mins...other than that nothing. No check engine or anything. You get used to ignoring the flashing idiot light. I am not willing to spend over $100 for these sensors. Stock wheels are going on for the winter and they have sensors!!!!

Wheels West told me FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS for wheel sensors.
I asked the dealership and they said $240 taxes in. It ended up I got them free from a buddy who owed me!

Prices vary like crazy, but I'm pretty sure Ebag has quite a few for CHEAP, just not sure which are knock-offs and which are OEM parts... sometimes the pictures lie!
