OK, so I have this 2006 Magnum R/T built in April of 2005. I always assumed the that all 2006s had the TPMS. The little icon in the instrument panel always illuminates when starting the car and sometimes comes on briefly while cruising down the highway. I recently noticed that the left front tire was visibly low and sure enough it was at 20 PSI. I took the car into my local dealer and was told. "You don't have the TPMS." "Your car has the rubber valve stems." I did a bit of searching and it's pretty clear that the TPMS requires sensors that mount in the valve stem hole and they most certainly are metal. So, what in fact do I have? Just the receiving-end hardware and indicator??? Doncha think that if the indicator is there, I'd have the sensors as well? I'm currently waiting for a response from the dealer but am doing my best to proactively gather ammunition. They already denied my request to replace the radio with the REF unit with aux input that all 2006s are supposed to have; stating that it was "late availaility".
Anyhoo, any useful input would be greatly appreciated.
