Tint.....luck.....what would you do??

Wow what a day! On my way to work running really late manually shifting the mag having some fun slicing thru traffic I pull into a gas station and park.(Keep in mind I had been doing upwards of 60 at some points. Im about 3 feet from the gas station door when out of the corner of my eye I see the flashing lights of the bike cop. Chirping his siren I ignore him and go inside.(Hes not a bill collector calling, its not like not answering the phone and the problem goes away, but I could hope lol) So Im inside and I hear the cashier say what the hell and go to the window. Yep hes parked right behind vader. So I go outside playing dumb and jokingly as if hes by my car to give me good news. He said he caught me doing 43 in a 30. So he does the usual wander around the car but he likes it! Even made the comment "nice car" He asked what was up with my windows and I replied dunno? whats wrong with them?? He gladly showed me the tint machine on my window was showing 10%. I walked up to my car and rolled down the window asking him to check it again. He replied with my front strip being over twice as low as what the law allows. He also made the comment that he had to try like hell to catch up to me. I chuckled and told him it would of been a different story had I the hemi upgrade done. He actually laughed. it was great I BS'd with him like we were old buddies! When it was all said and done I gotta go to court to show my ins card and got a 110 dollar ticket. NOT BAD considering side windows and front strip were seperate offenses at $105 each!!! I asked if it would be an odd situation if I hugged him, I was informed that that would be a bad choice. Just want to send a thank you out to that cop. lol question is should I change the windows?? what really are the chances that Ill get pulled over again?? this was the first time since 2005...........

Can't tell you how many time I've been pulled over and the LEO never mention my driver or passanger window tint. However I only have 35% or is it 50% on all five windows. Either way I'm illegal in California...

If you like it, tint it and I can't say this enough... "Life is short, enjoy it"

So what was the ticket for not showing an insurance card?

Next time have your insurance card with you and you would have been golden!

i had to go to court for my window tint and not having a valid insurance card. the actual ticket was 50 bucks, but after court costs, it was 150. stupid cops. stupid system

i have a medicial wavier to have mines 35% all the way around, however my tint is 20% and probably even lower on the windows. I'm hoping when/if i get stopped the cop will cut me a break?

Fix the windshield leave the rest. everyone seems to push the 5 or 6 inch rule set at the state level. thus getting more and more attention is being paid. Just remember the federal standard states nothing below the as1 line on the windshield.

Thanks for the heads up on keeping the insurance card with me. Ill try and remember that. lol. New car PLUS lazyness EQUALS ticket. Just gotta go to court and show card and then there wont be a cost. As far as the AS1 line.....Im only about 4" under that.(oops) but yeah I think your right if I took that off then it wouldnt stand out as much. Tint ticket in South dakota is $105 for side windows and $105 for front window.

yeah so I took the front window tint off the other day. Ive only seen this cop work early days and now when I had to make a run to the atm at a lil past midnight there he was at the same intersection!! ugh Im glad i gave this car to my wife and my rt will be here today.

I am going to be doing Limo on every thing behind the front doors and i have already checked with the HP and they said because I am driving a "Utility Vehicle" it is legal. The officer I talked with said He would actuly just get rid of all the back glass. LOL
