We must question the story logic of having an all-knowing all-powerful God, who creates faulty Humans, and then blames them for his own mistakes. – Gene Roddenberry
..
The 1st gen SHO used a 3.0 V6 that was Ford based, the 2nd gen used 3.0 for manual tranny cars, and a 3.2 for the auto cars. Both were Ford based. It wasn't until the 1996 model came out that it was switched to a 3.4 V8 with a block that was Yamaha based, and heads from Cosworth.
And I dig the new one.![]()

So far Ford hasnt asked for the bailout money,so they must be doing something right.
I had two SHOs, a '89 and a '92. The best parts of the cars were the engine and the tranny. As I recall that engine was made by Yamaha and the tranny by Mazda. The engine was a small aircraft engine that was capable of turning over 10K RPMs, but was ECU limited (drive accessories couldn't handle the revs). You just couldn't kill that engine!! Even if they were wrong wheeled, they were both nice rides.
