    Survey says............

OK I know this thread has been started before but I dont know were it ended?? after doing my car it made me think of some new questions so I wanna run with this and see were it leads?

bubbles all over. The moldings pulled off SUPER EASY leaving not much behind.....they also smell really moldy?? I used NO HEAT and NO CHEMICALS! so thats out of the equation of possible problems. But the 3m adhesive is crumbley and didnt give much resistance at all. So the other questions I had were

1)is this happening on a select few colors of magnums??
2)is there a time period?? has anyone pulled these off after the car only being a couple months old??
3)is this only being seen with cars produced at a certain plant in canada?
4)is there a set production number that people have for the moldings that might be causing the issue??
5)does anyone have a contact number for dodge issues??
6)could this be caused by the maker of the molding itself?(not dodge) or maybe the 3m company and they refused to help dodge out with it so dodge is ignoring the problem??

This is random but an all WHITE spider?? wtf?

these molding came off SUPER EASY with no damage and are for sale free minus shipping.

I've seen alot of bubble issues on here after people demold their rides, not just magnums. This is what keeps me from taking mine off, not the paint color variation but the bubbles, some have had luck where the bubbles go away and others put the molding back on cause the bubbles are just hideous.

when I mentioned color variation I mean is it only happening to maybe silver lx cars or a bunch of different colors. I wont put the moldings back on because it could be a potential rust hazard I think?? I would rather sand the whole car down......and wait until dec or jan to paint it.

The 2005 LX's were notorious for bubbling paint under the moldings.........2006's fared a LOT better.......

The mouldings are made by a different company starting in '06, they even have a different profile so if one has to be replaced and you want them to look the same then you have to replace all of them and you now must paint them. Weird thing is the install the chrome tape on the unpainted mldg.

I think it's hit or miss on the 05's with the bubbles. I have seen threads with No problems, and threads with Problems.
If I recall (my memory sucks just FYI)-
It was something to do with the molding's being put on Before the paint fully cured on the car.
Dodge wouldn't cover it usually because by removing the moldings, your modifying the car from stock.
I say BS because the bubbles are still potentially there, whether the molding is left on or not.....

thats what Im talking about josh, Its like chevy coming out in the eary 90's with there white paint and saying if you wash your truck theres a greater chance of the paint flaking. Its BS. what color has everyone seen?? Ive never heard of this happening on the emblems tho??? you would think those would be attached at the same time.

methinks its actually the paint itself. almost looks like the paint didnt set enough before they put the mouldings on....any adhesive will cause bubbles in the paint if it hasnt dried enough
