    Super Chips vs Predator

Within my circle of friends there another 05 Magnum R/T. He has everything I have on my car with the exception of the tuners. I use the Superchips and he has the Predator. Try as he will, he can't beat my times or trap speeds. Has anyone else found that the Super Chips tuner out performs the Predator??

IMHO the Superchips is for mostly stock cars with a few bolt ons, the Predator is more for guys with a lot of engine mods...............

    I like my Superchips................

I'm still waiting to see if the Predator is faster. I took it to the track once, but it was a very humid day, so my times were not reflective. I'm hoping it is faster with the mods listed but we'll see. If nothing else it allows for cmr tuning.

What are both of your 1/4 times? If we are talking .5 and 2-3

Sooooo many variables, who knows. Take it to the same dyno on the same day/time and see who puts down the most power on average. That will give you a better idea. True, track times are the best usually, but there are tires, weight, and driver. You should swap cars and see how if times change!

My best time has been 13.8 and best speed is 101.23. He's running 14.3s or higher @ around 97mph. He's running the predator 93 tune while I'm running the super chips 91 with torque mgnt reduction.

The best test would be to trade tuners, THAT would be interesting to see...

That's one reason I went to the v1.11 tune, I drove Aries4Life's RT and it was jumpy enough to convince me that giving up my 1.0 tune was worth it. We traded tunes after a test ride and mine was indeed as good as or better with the 1.11 than it was with the 1.0 version.

Consider this.. With a tune, the Predator put down 315 and 320 rwph on two basically stock Chargers. As far as I know, Tony isn't tuned yet.

Until you move from one tuner to the other on the same vehicle, you're not going to be able to judge for yourself the true awesomeness that is the Diablo Predator.

I won't say that the SuperChips isn't a good tuner for what it is, but the Diablo may be better suited for those with more aggressive mods than a cold air intake and exhaust.

Tony is tuned. I guess everyone is entitled to their opinion. My latest downloads seemed to give me a big boost in power. I was just curious if anyone else was getting these types of results.

Yep...still here. I'm trying to sell the Magnum. If you know anybody who might be interested, it's list here under the "vehicles for sale" thread. New car coming late summer. The Magnum has to go!! I'm sure I'll be seeing you out and about.

I found on a Mustang Dyno the Superchip 91 octane tune gave me identical 302.5 hp and equal tq as the Predator 93 canned tune. A/F ratio was perfect with both. The SC seems to shift a mite firmer. Unless your getting a supercharger, I'd say keep the SC. The SC apparently works well with some head cam combos. Ask Mike East if you do that, he's happy with the SC. I'm not doubting the guys that have CMR tuned and gotten 40 more hp, but my dyno/tuner guy says my a/f ratio is spot on. Night Moves, what are you trading up to, Challenger? Please tell me it ain't rice!

    superchips vs the predator

I like my Superchips too. I love the firm shifts. It brings the front end of the car up when I shift. It squats and goes. Are you running the 1.13 version or the 1.11 version?? I'm still on the 1.11version right now.
It seems to me that the "Airaid" "Vortex" Throttle Body Spacer you have "NightmovesII" might be hurting some of your performance yet. Have you thought about removing it and seeing if it improves?? I remember reading that it actually hurts performance than gaining anything at all. Be interesting to see if actually works or doesn't work for ya. I didn't see if your running a cooler thermostat either. I'm running a 180 and runs about 183 when I cruising down the hwy.
