Since the SRT and lesser LX vehicles all use a similar Powertrain Control Module (PCM), I am sure the timing works the same or at least similar, although using different timing curve numbers. I have a ScanGauge velcroed to my dash of my Mag RT, and timing is one of the things I continuously monitor. In town the stock timing constantly (and I do mean continuous) changes in a range from about 6-30 degrees. On the highway it does not change quite as rapidly, but is still always changing, usually in a range from about 24-34. With the Superchips Tuner set on the 91 tune all those numbers are advanced considerably. The range for both city and highway now runs in the range of approximately 6-46 degrees, almost always considerably more than stock. I have just changed to the 87 tune, and notice (so far) that the timing is still advanced more than stock, but less than the 91 tune. I haven't driven it far enough with the 87 tune to post approximate numbers. Since the PCM controls the timing, it is obviously simultaneously adjusting engine speed, and perhaps throttle position. Otherwise the way the timing moves on the ScanGauge the engine RPM would be fluctuating wildly most of the time. All I can say is, aren't computers wonderful? How do they do that??

Cool. Wonder if the crankshaft position sensor can be offset to add a couple degrees of static timing?
