"srt Design"... What The Heck Is That?

Today I was at the dealer from 10:30 am - 2:30 PM waiting for service and just walking around and saw something unusual to me.
IT WAS AN 08 CHRYSLER 300 5.7 HEMI WITH THE BADGE ON THE BACK THAT READ>>>> "SRT DESIGN".

I looked it over as best as I could and found that this was a 5.7 HEMI that they had put SRT style seats in, the better exhaust, and 20" wheels exactally like the SRT8 Chrysler 300.

I don't know if anyone had POST anything about this or not, but this was the first I heard, much less see, about a SRT DESIGN vehicle,

HAS ANYONE ELSE HEARD OR SEEN THIS???

It was pretty nice but a little over $3000 over the regular 300c HEMI
that sat beside it. (Don't believe it was worth the $37000 price tag!)

I've seen two 300's on the road that had that SRT Design badge on it. I'm not sure what they had as an engine. I thought that they were 6.1s, since I was told that for '08 the 300CSRT8 was by special order only. But now I'm not sure. Someone here must know for sure.

SRT Design was a stupid name for it. SRT should only be on the actual SRT vehicles.

Because R/T is a Dodge name. What they should have called it was a LXI or simply left off the SRT Design badge and called it what it is, a 300C.

By-the-way... I was wondering if they plan on doing the "SRT DESIGN" on any other cars besides the 300c, like the charger or magnums? I also agree they shouldn't have named this SRT anything, RT or another name would seem more approiate.

When I bought my Srt-4 they tried to sell me a regular neon with the SRT appearance package which included a wannabe hood 15 aluminum SRT knock off wheels and the dual exhaust muffler. I laughed and said I'm trading in a 2000 Dakota with a V8 and you wanna put me in a 4 banger with 130 horsepower. You better get that SRT-4 prepped I'm taking it home. (it was the last one the dealer was set to get)

We happen to own one of each (300C SRTDesign & MSRT8), it has all the cosmetics less the lower facia and side trim. I'm not too hung up on the badging thing as all badges have been shaved on both, just liked the factory wheels and nicer interior. It was also cool to get a little nicer exhaust tone than the stock 5.7 along with a slight hp bump. The SRTDesign was for my wife who doesn't really appreciate the benefits of the 6.1L. The most ironic thing is most people other than enthusiast have no idea what the SRT means anyway.

I think I'd feel stupid pulling up next to a REAL SRT.
Ford does that crap with the Mustangs, too. Dress it up to look like something it's not and charging too much extra for it.

I wouldn't call him a "faker"....he did not dress up his car to pose as a SRT8. These are actual production vehicles that have a slight boost in HP, better exhaust, the nicer interior, and the different wheels. The badging does NOT say SRT8 but SRTdesign. I guess you would call a bunch of the members here "fakers" for putting a SRT8 Spoiler on a 300C or a MSRT8 facia on a R/T or SXT. It is all personal preference. The only difference is that the SRTdesign is from the factory instead of modded that way in your garage! Just my .02 worth
