So if a Moose Meets a Magnum...

...and the Magnum is sitting still, what would the moose do?

Well, this morning I found out the answer. My 6 yr old and I saw two moose in the woods beside the driveway when I was walking her out to the bus stop. That was pretty cool, but when I went out later I saw that one of them had taken an interest in my car. Check out the moose prints in the snow. They went all the way around the car.

Hopefully you can see them. Now check out along the back and side...

Look at all the snuffle-marks as it went around the car - HAHAHA!! I don't know WHAT it was doing! Covering it in moose boogers, apparently. One more...

...it snuffled around in the snow on the hood, too.

I tell ya, I've got to get the basement finished so I can get all the furniture out of MY half of the garage and save my car from these kinds of indignities - LOL!

...And yeah, I beat that yellow 'vette by a tenth - LOL!

    Cool!!!

I bet it was the male moose. Went to check out your Magnum, while the female moose went shopping.

Be careful, Moose can be pretty temperamental and go nuts on you all of a sudden. I would hate to see the "If a person meets a moose" post.

    "Meeses" ... ?!

I DO know that if you're driving down the highway in a big truck, and see a moose standing beside the road... do NOT ... I say again... DO NOT BLOW THE AIR HORN!!! Apparently, that's "moose-ish" for "#@ck you!"

... totaled the moose AND the truck! (Not my truck, but I did see the results and spoke with the driver. He was pretty shaken up, too.)

Good one, Super T - I would've had front hoof-prints on the top of the back hatch for starters, I'd bet.

No pics of the meese unfortunately, but they hung around in the yard for a while and my 4 yr old got to watch them from inside about 30 ft away, too. One was quite a bit bigger than the other, and by the size of the prints it was the smaller one that accosted my car.

Man, how hard-up for flavour do you have to be to want to eat all that dirt for just a little taste of salt - HAHAHA! Seriously, the sand mix they spread on ice around here doesn't have very much salt, but enough for a moose, I guess. Looks like it cleansed its palate with the snow on the hood, then. Probably hacked up a muckball later, too. BTW, I did wash the car today, too. Not so much for boogers/saliva, but because I just couldn't STAND it anymore - LOL! I know it'll be dirty again...well it IS dirty again, but at least it's a new round of dirt.

I was very conscious of the potential dangers with them out there with us and all went well. And as for encounters with them by the highway - a woman in an Accord was killed last month after hitting one 5 miles from here.

Sure was cool to see them in the yard, though. That was only about the third time in seven years.
