    Unhappy snap crackle pop...... PING.

I dont know why I havent asked before....

Until I parked next to a handfull of other LX's I didn't *think* it was a big deal...

But after we shut-down the cars, MY car kept popping, pinging, and creaking and moaning long after the other folks. I'm pretty sure it's just the car/metal heating up and then cooling down, but dayum... It's pretty dramatically different than other LX's next to mine...

    Any ideas??

Mine does it as well its the metal changing charateristics as it cools it did it with the stock cats and now with the hiflo from magna. When I was a helo crewman the engs would do that but in the summer it was 3 times as loud do to the higher operating temps.

A 180 degree thermostat might help some keeping underhood temps down. Both my Magnum and my Ram are quieter after shut down after the t-stat change.

Exhaust is making the noise, but why? Are you lean causing the headers to glow? Bad converter? ? ?

Expanding and contracting exhaust pipes, mufflers, catalytic converters and heat shields all make a cracking/ticking type noise.

When the car is run the metal in the exhaust system gets hot and expands and as the car cools down it contracts.

Runnin' 93 octane with a custom tune.

I'm pretty sure the JBA hi-flow cats are it... burnt/clogged maybe??? I dunno. Any way for me to figure it out without dropping the whole exhaust?? i.e. cat temps, etc thru the Predator?

The plan is to switch to an SRT header and cat soon... anyone have a SRT cat/mid for me?? Just need that... and to install it all.
